  1. Yokohama Parada Spec-2

I've lost count of the number of 'Which Tyre' posts I've seen on these forums so, as discussed in the Club Chat forum, here are my comments on my current tyres - Yokohama Parada Spec-2's.

If anybody who wants to review their tyre, add there comments into this thread, specific to that type of tyre, we could use this area for research into opinions on tyres? After all, the one thing every single member of this club will need to think about at some point... is tyres!

Take the below points, copy them into your own post and give it the heading of the name of the tyres.

For instance, if you want to review Toyo Proxe T1R's, create a new post called 'Toyo Proxe T1R' and include the information below, but with your own comments.

Or, if you are looking for information on a certain tyre, you can search this Supplier and Parts Review forum for that brand or model of tyre and see what people have to say about it.

    I'll start.....

Make and Model plus size of Tyre: Yokohama Parada Spec-2 - 225/40/18

Celica owned: Gen 7 140 (vvti)

Type of driving: Motorway and City mainly, with the odd bit of country driving.

Type of driver: 50/50 split between calm and sensible and a bit of a racer!

Miles covered so far and wear rate: Roughly 4000 miles and no sign of wear yet.

Dry use: Amazing. Totally superb grip, handling was totally reformed with these tyres. Quite progressive, but have always bottled it before the tyres give up! :(

Wet use: For 'normal' driving they are excellent. No problems with aquaplaning or standing water at all, very confident tyre. However, if you like to race around a bit in the wet or corner at anything like a high speed, these aren't the best at all. Luckily I drive sensibly in the wet so I'm perfectly happy.

Snow / Ice use: Not applicable

Noise: Average. Not great, not bad.

Overall opinion / comments / strengths / weaknesses: Great tyre and will definitely buy again. Not a superb wet weather tyre by any means, but amazing grip in dry / damp conditions and seem to be wearing well so far.

Price paid and from where: £500ish from South Coast Wheels a.k.a Southampton Performance Tyres.

Rating out of 10: 8.5 - only lacking in wet weather racing grip
