geraintthomas
Is there any products that are any good for repairing creased and cracked leather? I'd love to smooth out the cracks and get that satin black leather effect again. Cheers!
Mondo
You'd be looking to re-feed the hide, then recolour it. Depending how bad the cracking is, it might not be able to be revitalised again.
geraintthomas
It's not that bad at all. The crack is less than an inch, but there's wear folds and creases across the seats. Any products I could use that would help get the creases out and get that satin finish?
Mondo
The creases you're stuck with, mate - it's just what happens as the seat wears. The only option you'd really have would be to use a heatgun on the affected area, but you've got to be so bloody careful when you do or you could ruin the leather!!! geraintthomas
Aww, nevermind then Well what about colour restoration? The leather is shiny and is turning slightly yellow in areas that have been rubbed down extensively. Isn't there some sort of dye you can purchase that brings the colour back? Mondo
There's plenty of leather dyes out there. Getting the right shade, however, could be a different story. Take some pics and post them up here and I'll have a look for you.
geraintthomas
Fantastic - I'll get some pictures up in the light tomorrow, just so you can see. The creases aren't bothering me much, it's the shiny surface and discolouring that bugs me. I'd love to get all of it back to satin black. Thanks Mondo
