2diffs Posted March 26, 2012 Report Share Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) Possible cause is a poor earth in one of your brake bulbs holders on stop and tail. Some of the brake voltage runs back from bulb earth down the side light wire and operates the low resistance LED's in series with the brake light. Your LED's are acting like a test lamp. Check earth continuity from holder to body by clipping a temporary earth to the rear holders in turn. If the LED's do not illuminate on braking it is your original earthing lead to chassis. Or you can remove the light bulb on one side and try, then both, this will identify which holder earth is bad.
