Slugster
Some batts have them and some don't. It lets the battery breath when charging and prevent a pressure build, or so it says here .... http://www.yuasabatt...?action=1&id=
roy newton
thanks i have read it but it is not very clear, does it mean to pull out red stopper on side of battery and then fit red L shaped tube and then leave in place? Slugster
Looks that way to me, the red tube is poss a plug to stop anything coming out in transit. I'd do as it says on that site, or contact whoever you got it from for more info. Quoted from site.... "As as side note, always be sure to remove the small red sealed tube when installing the battery. Never put this red tube back on to the battery after it is activated." planc
Yep transit plug, and the hole is a breather. If you mounted the battery inside the car like the boot fitted ones in a BMW it is advised that you fit a breather pipe and vent it outside so the fumes dont fill the car.
