A million guests a year, ranging from globetrotting backpackers to suitcase-toting fortnighters, come to southern Thailand just for the gorgeous beaches of KO SAMUI, 80km from Surat. On a high-speed catamaran from Donsak Pier, the trip requires roughly an hour to Koh Samui, 2 hours to Koh Phangan, and roughly three-4 hours to Koh Tao. Like other islands, Koh Tao is lovely and household to a number of dive schools close to some of the ideal diving spots you'll come across anyplace in Thailand or Southeast Asia. Samui is much a lot more comercial and IMO much less stunning, Phanagan is still much more backpackery but becomeing comercial. Koh Samui is 1 of numerous Thailand beach destinations that attracts fans of the sport, thanks to the island's optimal wind situations.

There is a fantastic fitness center on Koh Tao but I'd have to discover my own lodging for the month. This does not make it worthwhile for travelers staying less than a week or initially time visitors with out a gameplan. Hidden in the mists of Koh Samui's hillside jungle, the Magic Buddha Garden is a mystical anomaly created by neighborhood septuagenarian fruit farmer Nimm Thongsuk. From sophisticated cocktail bars to beachside institutions, Chaweng and Bophut are the spots not to miss even though you stay on Samui. I lived on Koh Samui in the months of March and April which is still a good time to visit, but temperatures get actually hot around 30 degrees and much more and air-con is required! I am going to Koh Samui in Feb with my 3 little ones (aged 11, 14 and 18) and partner, we are looking for a lovely hotel on a gorgeous beach. I haven't been in a couple of years and your post reminds of what I'm missing in Samui.

The moment we arrived we could not wipe the smiles off our faces.. it was also good to see the identical look on our good friends faces - who have been staying elsewhere on the island- when they came to pay a visit the next site to. Thank you two 🙂 I do like Koh Samui a lot also, I consider the northern beaches are charming and uncrowded, unlike to the east side of the island. Most folks come to Koh Samui to relax on the beach, be pampered in luxury accommodation, or to party at the bars (largely on Chaweng and Lamai) so that's a fantastic program also! You cannot leave Koh Samui without visiting a spa for a massage or beauty treatment, and there are no shortage of spas prepared to give you a taste of luxurious and exotic therapies. Restaurants are high priced, but not as substantially as the Conrad Koh Samui and there is a wider selection on the area service menu.
