slybunda Posted 3 September Report Posted 3 September Anyone regassed Thier own Aircon using those vacuum pump and gauge kits? Current gassing prices are 75 to 90 quid so thinking of just getting the 100 quid kit and doing it myself but wanted to see if anyone else has tried it.
Old Red Celica Posted 3 September Report Posted 3 September I've seen regassing in Norfolk for £50 inc vat, so probably worth checking around for prices.

Told him it had a leak and they didnt have the tools to look for it and they couldnt fill it. A year passed and he brought it to me to change the condenser, Before taking it off, I checked and there was still gas in it. Took it somewhere else and they tested it and filled it and its been working ever since. Lots of local garages have the proper machine and will do it for £50 - £60 - including a proper remove, vaccum test and new oil

slybunda Posted 4 September Author Report Posted 4 September (edited) Gonna take to to F1 auto centre, 70 quid but they gonna do full vacuum job and leak test etc and if it's not working then you don't pay so good enough for me What's normal temps supposed to be for celicas? E.g if it's 25c outside temp what should I expect the AC vent to blow out? Edited 4 September by slybunda
slybunda Posted 5 September Author Report Posted 5 September Just had it gassed at F1 it's blowing cold now and no leaks so all good. Cost 69 quid. Koyo condenser doing good 2
slybunda Posted 5 September Author Report Posted 5 September They said it used 430g of refrigerant. Goes cold real quick like 20 seconds after turning it on. Very surprised
