slybunda Posted 17 May Report Posted 17 May This is regarding my gen7 rear boot stopper rubbers, iv put in general section since hopefully the replies I get can be helpful to all cars and situations. Went to finally change the rear boot stopper rubbers which are held on with 2 screws each and one screw on each side has stripped it's head so can't get it out. What are the options for me to go about to getting them out? I used Philips screwdriver but after removing one screw I realised it's a pz2 head that fits it the best. Too late now though
Xanadu Posted 17 May Report Posted 17 May If you have a Dremel tool or similar, you can cut a slot in the head and use a flat blade screwdriver.
slybunda Posted 17 May Author Report Posted 17 May Bit hard to get to since it's recessed a bit in the rubber. Will get some pics up

_Chris_ Posted 18 May Report Posted 18 May cross head screws will inherantly centre any drill making this a good option. One the head has been drilled away the rubber should lift off leaving a short piece exposed you can get moles on.
slybunda Posted 18 May Author Report Posted 18 May Yes I will be replacing the rubber, will give the drill out method a go. Iv ordered replacement screws from dealer. Rip off at £1.90 a screw since I can get them for 1 quid each from amayama but I got no other parts I need yet so me. Knowing my luck it's just gonna be a metric M4 screw
slybunda Posted 22 May Author Report Posted 22 May Got the pics. Left screw done in. Will give it a go this weekend. Ignore the white stuff that's PTFE dry lube. Works wonders for making it quiet.
