I need some help.

I fitted coilovers to my 2003 Celica around a month ago with all new delphi anti roll bar links. The manufacturer of the coilovers (meister r) says they are designed to use the OEM drop links and dont need shortened/ adjustable ones.

Ive started hearing a large clonk but only when hitting deep potholes at speed, i investigated a bit and it looks like both front drop links, top and bottom joints the boots have absolutely no grease in them, this is what ive out the noise down to as everything else looks as it should.

Obviously I need new drop links, but I dont want this to happen again as it doesnt seem like a one off fault if its happened on both sides. Is this a failure of the drop links or is it more likely to be caused by the new coilovers placing more stress on the drop links causing them to fail (even still, in less than a month's seems odd)

What would you all reccomend I do?

Many thanks.

Drop links wear out anyway, so this maybe a component that's worn out and needs routine replacing, and is all that is needed.

I can understand shorter fit drop links if conforming to differing specifications of lowering, but shorter drop lincs can hamper the travel of suspension which can underperform  over bumpy or pot holed roads. Fabulous fun on nice smooth asphalt but on today's public highway maybe an unwise choice...

I had replaced them when I fit the coilovers though and they have gone bad within a month

Hmm, I'm using meyle hd ones. And they seem very beefy compared to the stock ones I had on the rear.

Will get a set for the fronts too.

Original Toyota ones are very good quality I think they may be made by senki555
