Had a great day in the week. My Celica was involved in a photo shoot for the Classic & Sports Car magazine, taking Malcolm’s place I must add, mine and a Mk2 Capri and a Vauxhall Firenza were there. Many pictures were taken including a lot of driving shots which I think will make great pictures. Simon Hucknall who organised it drove each car which was strange for me as I’m the only one who’s ever driven it apart from the mot tester. Apparently it will be in the September edition, so looking forward to that. Nice that my car has been getting some recognition lately. Hopefully all good for the club. :D

All rare cars, nice to see them together.Yours sits nicely on the slot alloys B). MK2 Capri's are pretty thin on the ground,I probably see a fair amount of MK1's and especially Mk3's at shows but MK2's not at all.I've never been a big Vauxhall fan generally, but the Firenza has good lines on it and the 'droop snoot' front end is pretty iconic.I had a neighbour years back with a Vauxhall Magnum 2300.It was finished in a metallic type green with a black vinyl roof, and sort of Rostyle-type wheels and always thought it looked pretty cool, aggressive looking double headlight front end and a dash with many gauges, battery status, all sorts.Coming from a world of base Escorts back then with no extras,a dash like that was pretty wicked. My friends sister had a Viva 1300S in a copper-ish colour with a cream vinyl roof and a similar dash. Was horribly unreliable but had the double headlight arrangement and the dash looked smart  .Still remember the plate,RDY 970S. Long gone now probably.

I had a light blue capri mk11 years ago. Always liked the bulge on the bonnet. As all our cars were driven on the day. My celica he said was the worst on the rear as he drove on that bend. Always thought the capri was renowned for being a bit twitchy on the rear 😃

Thanks kev. The interest in jap stuff seems to be becoming more popular these days. No pics mate. It was what I call powder blue? In colour. Must admit mk1&3 were prettier

I completely missed this earlier, well done on a successful photoshoot! How exciting to be a part of the event and see the whole process through to the production of the magazine. We will look out for it this week.

We had a black Capri JPS with the gold lines and gold wheels back in the late 1970s until 1981. Wish we had it now - it was a great headturner in the 1970s! I think it's only looking back now that we all appreciate so many of these iconic cars :D. Great to see yours looking so good!
