10 hours worth of valet detailing

Recommended Posts

Washed, deironed, detarred, waxed twice, 12 month ceramic coating applied on body, glass and wheels, polished, interior hand cleaned, seats, dash etc, pedals, hinges, this guy was insane on the detail, I got bored after 5 hours and just left him to it, the results were stunning though, I was very impressed. Check out what came out of the carpets, yuck.

I only really did it for the 12 month ceramic coating as it was resprayed in March, plus the roof liner needed doing and carpets were hanging, I do normally wash it myself. Personally I'll never take it through a car wash, I enjoy washing it and I love my neighbours, but when I get the car out neighbours just appear like flys, normally right in the middle of wax usually, the other day I put a CF cowl on and a sun strip, anything takes me ages with all the chatters, re: the sun strip I've got soapy water down positioning the strip, ie. a limited window to position etc. It's a wonder I got it done properly with all the chatting.

I'll personally never go through a carwash again - ever since the Esso Shaftesbury one on the way up to a Rallyday a few years back. The horizontal roller was running backwards and ripped the spoiler off my Gen6 GT4 and dragged it backwards and forwards along the roof while I was inside the car powerless to do anything other than beep my horn. Yes you've guessed it - they pointed to a small sign saying cars with spoilers shouldn't use it so no liability.

Yea thats bad. My fiesta side mirror got bust in drive through wash so these days if i do a wash its the hand wash guys I use. Their prices gone up too used to be 5 quid then 6 now its at 7.

My back is out which causes problems but hmm you know what im gonna give it a shot and wash the cars now.

Bah my idea of Washing the car by using foam cannon then rinse with pressure washer is not effective. Car is still dirty and needs manual labour to scrub it with a sponge or cloth. Some dirt is just caked on too tight.

And to make matters worse the fiesta's front badge fell off so its worse than when i started. My back is killing me again too. Should have just paid car wash guys to do it.
