Ordering parts from Mr.T

Recommended Posts

Earlier today went into my local Mr.T to order a pair of genuine Toyota ARB bushes for the rear... got quoted £15.90 each.

Almost 32 quid a pair seems rather a lot, but is this the going rate?

Probably get 10% discount off, will find out later...

Also tried to order genuine Toyota A/C condenser O rings, but this confused the guy, after spending 5 minutes on his computer in a back room behind a closed door, he came back to me and said they only come with the AC pipe kit and o rings can't be supplied on their own

I'm not sure i need the pipe kit as well, or how expensive it is, probably a lot more than just the rings.

Does anyone know the Toyota part number for the condenser O rings?

Also are they the same as the compressor O rings?

And how many are there?

Thanks for any info help

You might find the part number and if they are available separately by visiting the site below.

http://japan-parts.eu/

Thanks for the link.

It's a bit of a maze to get lost in, but a very informative site, however the cooling pipe numbers are complicated with two diagrams, and a 'Maker' number that is different to a 'Dealer' number...

The Dealer numbers are 2 x bolts for condenser: part number 91651-60625 & 2 x bolts for compressor: part number 91511-J0625.

The 'Maker' number is for 4 x bolts that are the same for both the compressor and the condenser unit: part number 91511-60625

All the above number references show what looks like a bolt (banjo type bolt?) but does not clearly show any o rings, so i don't know if the o rings come with the bolts or not.

Still very puzzled here, maybe easier to source suitably sized o rings from a nearby A/C and refrigeration retail shop when the old condenser comes out (?)

Also these diagrams below:

TOYOTA CELICA ZZT230R

This diagram throws up completely different part numbers to my previous post.

[ So my previous post reference part numbers must be banjo bolts, and not o rings! ]

Looks like 2 x number 1 type is need on the condenser: 90099-14120

And if the compressor o rings are replaced then 1 x number 1 type [as above], and 1 x number 3 type 90099-14121 is needed

Can anyone confirm please?

There is one of those on eBay, now. Make sure you're sitting down before you click the link.

That's not any O ring, that's an OMG Ring!

However, i haven't been quoted any O ring prices from my local Mr T yet

I'm still smarting from the £30+ price for ARB bushes, and have that feeling i'm getting ripped'

I mean next time i get the subframes refurbished i want to replace all the rubber bushes with brand new genuine Toyota.

I can get 2 x genuine ARB bushes delivered from UAE for £13.63

Interesting!

It looks very much like they come as a pair, and i've been quoted for two pairs, not 2 bushes.

When you think about it, no one should replace one ARB bush, and they should be suppled as a pair.

So 15 quid odd would be about right (for a pair)

Mr T will phone me tomorrow when the order is in, i'd better not beat about the bush about it ;)

Have you bought anything from UAE that didn't have VAT and Royal Mail handling charge added to it when it reached the UK?

People tend to forget that when buying from abroad.

Looks like that could be the case. Here's a price in euros from ToyoDIY.

I'm really surprised, looking at the size of those O rings; they all seems to be non-standard sizes. Both the i.d. and the cross sections all seems to be unique fits.

So, not 10.0 or 11.0 mm id and not 1.5mm cross-sections. So, is it really the case that a 10.6 x 14.16mm ring is something unique to Mr T.

There are kits of AC O rings for sale on ebay, but they all seems to be standard sizes. I wonder what independent AC specialists do?

The local Mr. T guy just phoned me to say the ARB bush order is in and ready to collect.

He confirmed the price to be £33 for the two, less 10% discount so just under 30 quid.

He confirmed the part number & pricing is for one bush;

so with VAT that must be over £16 for one! (Compared to 11.65 Euros for a pair above)

Perhaps my local Mr T is simply being too greedy, or trying to put off people buying spares for older cars from them (?)

<>

He checked the o ring prices and said they would be in on Friday:

3 xType 1 needed / 90099-14120 = £1.20 each

1 x Type 3 needed / 90099-14121 = £1.80 each

Ordered them and will buy, but not sure if i need also need a Type 2 o-ring as well (?)

Still undecided about the ARB bushes, can think it over til Friday...

Just so you know you can get all the O ring and bushes for 23 quid delivered to the UK

[ parcel from Japan to UK ]

How much does the postage cost from Japan?

I would think at the low goods value it's most likely not to be affected with import duty

I see on the invoice, the ARB bushes are quoted singly at 4.34 each.

This suggests they're always quoted as a 2 pack order. But they are a cheap as chips!

Maybe this price from Japan is more inline with a trade price, which would suggest a rather large mark-up at retail in Mr. T

Another observation is the number 3 type O ring part number 90099-14121 is quoted as 'Hino' (?) and being a 'gasket' (?)

Can only guess some A/C components, such as the compressor, are not manufactured by Toyota.

Just had a look at the ToyoDIY site, and have found:

This section provides detailed part number information, which can be helpful when ordering parts from your dealer, and to determine the total cost of your repairs.!

This is not an online store; the prices are approximate retail prices, and provided for reference purposes only. You can not order parts from this site.

Well that is a shame

A lot of stuff isn't made by toyota. You will find many parts are interchangeable with different car manufacturers.

The price of 23 quid is delivered to the UK. 4 orders with some totalling $300 with no import or handling.

Look at declared invoice price for these parts.

What's the website address please?  :)

4883232120 / Bracket, Rear Stabilizer Bar, No. 1... = 63p each!

I was too afraid to ask the price for those ARB bush brackets, i bet they'd be over 20 quid a pair on a good day in my local Mr. T :sofa:
