Funny comments on MOT paperwork

Question

I just had my 2001 Gen 7 T Sport MOT'd for the first time in my possession - passed!!

Out of interest I used the GOV site to check on the old MOT's (as I have extensive paperwork showing old problems and repairs anyway so this was just idle curiosity).

These comments made me wonder if this MOT person had ever seen a car with under trays or engine covers before????

  • "Advisory notice item(s)

Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components
Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay"

the factory covers also cover a good chunk of the front subframe and forward chassis meaning there could be giant rust holes they cant see.

is just covering their backs

If certain components are obstructed then they really need to wright it down as an advisory to cover their back just incase the component that they couldn't inspect fails as they can't removed any parts during an MOT by law
