LiamGTR
Important changes to car insurance Check this link: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/159980-new-insuranc-law-malarkey.html From what I understand, even if your car is taxed, it is NOT ALLOWED on public roads or even your own garage/drive, even if it's just parked up. Even if you're rebuilding a car etc. in a garage it now needs insurance. I think. Check the link
KrisSilver
This did the rounds and I thought it was clarified as, tax wise the car must be SORN, in order for no insurance to be ok.
Biggy
So basicly if the car is taxed it has to be insured?so if its of the road and not insured you need to sorn it..
KrisSilver
So basicly if the car is taxed it has to be insured? Correct. so if its of the road and not insured you need to sorn it.. Wrong way round, the second you stop insurance on a taxed car, your breaking the law. So if taking a car off road you need to fully SORN, before stopping insurance. LiamGTR
I guess it doesn't apply to us normal/boring people who just insure a car and drive it. But if you have projects/break cars/TSS ect. it's definitely worth looking into.

KrisSilver
I meant of the road not taxed has to be sorned.. Not sure what you mean there mate. You car has always had to be either Taxed/SORN anyway? Basically, you can't un-insure a taxed vehicle.
shadow750
A car with no tax has to be sorn if you dont sorn it you will also get done for no insurance if its not insured. No tax SORN it. Simples.
