At last I've got a shot of my baby in front of the Chirk Castle gates. I've been loads of times but there's always been a heap parked there before me!!!!!!!

Early morning rising today so I fired up the Celica and had a drive down to the nearest big town to fill up with petrol. I usually run on Shell V-Power but thought I'd try a tank full of Tesco Momentum just for a change. Got a full tank before the prices rocket because of the Russians

Well I have zero expertise in the area of welding and fabrication. I'm happy to have had my exhaust manufactured by a company with an outstanding reputation in their field. Their workshop is rammed with race cars and high end motors. I'm sure the racing community want the best .

I, personally, would not question Alunox craftsmanship. Their workshop is full of race cars and they only use the very best materials. I'm sure there is a reason. I had mine from Alunox and I'm as happy as a pig in wotsits. These guys know what they are doing

Horses for courses then really. I got my system from Alunox, the same as CrazyCatLady and I paid just over £1400 for it. I've always wanted quality in everything I buy. I may be a sucker but I've never been let down by any of my purchases.

Overpaid for the exhaust which is one of the best quality exhausts you can buy, or overpaid because the car itself isn't worth enough? It's a real distinction in my mind. This company make exhausts for race cars every day of the week. They are very highly regarded within the industry.

You got off a bit lighter than me! Mine was £1440 total but it's Alunox quality so well worth it

Yeah, mine sounds very slightly deeper in tone which is nice. No complaints from me

Alunox is one of the best exhaust manufacturers out there. I had them do an OEM "copy" for my ST205. Pure quality and they do a lot of motorsport stuff. You pay for quality but that's life eh Your car on Llay Industrial Estate now?

When it comes to the site's front page, click here to enter site. Do you always click on the same car? I know it's daft but I always seem to find myself clicking on the white ST205. Subconscious bias?

You never know who you are talking to some times. We went food shopping today and as I pulled into the carpark of our local small supermarket, Stans, I spotted this Gen5 parked up. I told Sian that I'd see her inside because I wanted to take a couple of pictures. As I did that, the owner turned up and was very friendly and happy to talk. I did of course ask him to join CCUK (as you do). He said he had spoken to a few Gen5 owners up at the Ponderosa a few years back. Sounds like he bumped into a Gen5 North Wales weekend. Anyway, we talked for a bit and he mentioned that he was a race driver of a Lotus Elise. I neglected to ask him his name When I got home I googled and googled doing my best Sherlock Holmes and after zooming in on the photo I got a clue to follow. The owner is Danny Holland and his story is incredible. He was a Welsh Guard and was seriously injured by an IED in Helmand, Afghanistan. He had always loved motorsport and the Army introduced a karting activity for injured servicemen. He jumped at the chance and ended up racing for the team. He has progressed now and is driving a Lotus Elise competitively. He has recovered from PTSD, shrapnel and serious brain injuries along with the loss of hearing in one ear. This guy is something else and such a nice bloke to stand and talk to an old fart like me.
