  1. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...
  2. If anyone's interested I've just measured how much the sound deadening weighs in the front of the car, as I chipped it all off I put it into a bag and it came out at 7.8kg not inluding the sound deadening in the boot. No idea what it will be like on the road with it gone, for me it doesn't matter as the car doesn't see much road, but I imagine it won't make it a particular pleasant experience on long journeys
  3. Unfortunately the back seats really don't weigh much and they actually block out a lot of sound, so my advise would be to keep them in if the car is only used on the road. If you wanted to go into weight saving mode without making the car too loud/ uncomfortable I would: Remove the secondary air system and all pipework (5-7kg) Remove the A/C and all associated pipework (I'm aware this can sacrifice comfort in some respects.. but it weighs a good 5-7kg). Replace the battery with a light weight one (OEM battery is around 15-17kg, the light ones are around 8KG or a little less) The numbers above might not be particularly accurate, thats just what I guess they weighed when I took them out the car. That's the easiest way of removing a good amount of weight without stripping the car down IMO.
  4. Ordered! Thanks for all the hard work to everyone at Club Celica!
  5. Another one saved from scrap heaven, nice one You weren't tempted by a 2ZZ swap then?
  6. Hello Everyone! I know there are already many threads on the soft spongy brake pedal the gen 7's seem to have, but I was just wondering if there was a bolt on master cylinder upgrade anyone knew of for the 7's? The reason I ask is... I have currently just done a bit of a brake overhaul, by no means BBK, but i was at least hoping for a little improvement without spending ££££'s. The following has been changed Avensis front brake upgrade HEL braided lines all round Brake fluid system fully flushed with ATE 200 (No air trapped, bled the system twice over) MTEC Grooved disks all round Black Diamond predator pads all around All calipers stripped, cleaned and lubricated. The brakes now bite really well with much more braking force, but the pedal still has that spongy feeling. Does anyone have any advice on how i can improve this without going down the Brembo route? Thanks for reading
  7. I've also noticed prices going up, I have a diesel for a daily but I do around 1600 - 2000 miles a month, so any kind of price hike I tend to notice straight away I actually need to fill up the celica tonight, I've always used V Power but with prices going up I keep thinking of going to the dark side...Tesco Momentum!
