  1. I don't know if would have the patience for a respray... If I saw my car like this, with a shiny new paint job, I would be thinking "Put it back together! Put it back together now! It's dry enough!" and so on. In fact I am thinking the same about this picture and it's not even my car
  2. I may take you up on that. I have (another) Carbon Spark plug cover coming from Ray (somehow lost the other I bought, I expect to find it after I fit the replacement) but I was doing searches for Carbon fibre engine covers as it seemed they were available when the Gen7 was new, or at least still in production.
  3. De-Butterfly and Panel Filter was about the first thing I did with my car, didn't notice much of a change in noise with the stock exhaust, if I am honest. Did the SRI have much effect on your insurance? I'm holding off doing anything else that might affect my insurance as I am expecting a nasty speeding ticket any day now after a triggering a camera last Thursday
  4. Noticed any difference? I wanted to go the SRI route just for appearance but the one I mistakenly bought had very vague (and according to sources here and other places, partially incorrect) instructions. Still looking at the Injen one. Added the new shiny bits I got off ebay. Lots of little bits of neo chrome because... well... reasons. And Tacky is my middle name
  5. I've actually been trying to get rid of all the bodged repairs that were already on mine. Mostly wiring or connectors. Replacing twist and tape with Scotchlok or, if I think it's something I might want to remove at a later date, bullet connectors. However, when I connected up my spoiler light I did a twist and tape job, planning on doing it properly once I was sure it was working... That was quite a few months ago now Lack of any real mechanical knowledge/skills prevents me from doing too much harm
  6. This arrived... Not quite what I was expecting compared to the (obviously generic) stock photo, but... Came with a Ram air flex pipe thing that I have no idea where to put. Hope to fit it Saturday but it looks a bit cheap, if I am honest :/
  7. Fitted these today They are utter shite. Advertised as being a quality product... Well they are a shiny product, if that's what the U.S. definition of quality is. Anyway, after cutting away massive lumps of molding flash so bulbs will fit in them, they are in. I now I am waiting on some amber bulbs to replace the reversing one and wire up some LED strips to use as reversing lights. Run out of Bullet connectors... and daylight. And, I am not sure if I don't prefer my tinted pre-face lift tail lights Photos to be added tomorrow
  8. These But I wasn't in to receive them, there's also a pending cash on delivery payment which I guess is import duty. . Also waiting on this. Which I am hoping isn't going to affect performance too much, I just wanted some more shiny in the engine bay
  9. Yeah, I should have added "and looked good" to that, although the MX-5 would still likely have out sold it.
  10. I suppose it depends on what you want from the car. I see the Audi TT in the same way as I see a Superdry Jacket. They are a pretty common sight. I don't doubt it's a very good car and I only need to leave the house to see how popular it is but I'm not sure I would want to own one. As for the MR2, should it have sold better? Probably but I thought the 2nd one had lost what made the original so good. It became too big but was still only a 2 seater sports car even though it closer to the size of a 2+2 coupe. If they had kept something closer to the original dimensions it may have been better received, Or maybe everyone would have still bought MX-5's instead. I'm not really sure what the augument here is, if I am honest. I suppose what I am saying, is my criticism of most modern coupes has been their lack of power compared to more sensible and practical cars from that manufacturers range. But maybe they are just all shit compared to the TT and that's why they failed to sell. To be perfectly honest, I liked driving around in a car that no one else had (even though it was a long way from perfect) that people didn't know what it was and while I don't have that now and even tho there is a Gen7 with full GT kit in spitting distance of where I live and gloss black, modified Gen7 even closer than that.I like that my GT isn't so common as to be a Superdry Jacket. Even if said jacket was better than what I choose to wear. So, I sort of don't mind that they didn't sell well... Kinda makes me want to get a Gen6 GT4
  11. Rivals? I hope he wasn't talking about the cars I mentioned earlier. The GT4 rivals or at least the cars that the GT4 was meant to compete with would be Evo IV's and Impreza WRX's. I would be surprised if it was pricey in comparison to them. Also, the 4WD would bump the price up over a 2WD car. My argument was always that the manufacturers always seemed to put more powerful engines into saloons or hatchbacks instead of their Coupe's. Corolla T-Sport? Why didn't they put that super charger on the T-sport or GT? Ok it's only an extra 25hp but it takes it over the 200 mark. Ignoring JDM models, The Honda Prelude never got as powerful H22a engine as the Accord Type R received and never received the Type R treatment as "It was already a sports car" But, maybe you're right, the GT4 should, by my own logic and arguement, have sold better, maybe not as well as the Impreza's and Evo's but certainly much better than it did.
  12. And this is, in my opinion, why most coupe's seem to fail. That little thing is expected to have over 205bhp giving it more power than both the last Celica and the GT86. Which is by no means something limited to Toyota, any company that has produced a coupe recently seems to think that the body shape alone will sell the car "It looks fast, doesn't need to be fast" appears to be the line from car manufacturers.
  13. Agreed, Motoring journalists are always citing the Hot Hatch as being the death of the Coupe, the coupe just no long being fashionable for people that wanted a cheap performance car. It didn't help that the coupes were often based on a sensible four door family saloon. Honda's Prelude (Killed off after the 5th Gen) With the 5th Gen Honda had, apparently, listened to their customers who wanted a larger boot and a cheaper car. The result was that it sold worse than the 4th Gen. Ford's Probe and Cougar (Of course you could blame the Probes failure on Alan Partridge ) Vauxhall's Calibra As far as I know these were all flops which, imo, was because they didn't offer anything you couldn't get with a more practical saloon. I am also pretty sure all of these are based on a four door saloon, Accord, Modeo and Vectra and in the end the saloon models had higher performance engines (at least in the UK market) so there wasn't really anything better about these Coupes except appearance and the Hot Hatch had already stolen the coupe market for affordable performance car. I've forgotten what my point was or if I ever had one... ...Hmmm I might need a distraction.. Look! An Eagle
  14. It's understandable in Europe or at least the UK. Front Wheel drive with not much power or practicality when compared to (even their own) hot hatch. Why go for a celica?
  15. The demand on GT86's might go up as the BRZ makes an appearance in Fast8. Although I'm not really sure what that franchise does for car sales as the driving set pieces in them generally hold about the same real world value as fight scenes in The Matrix. At moment I see more GT86/BRZ's on the road than I do Gen7 GT's so I am happy with my Celica (I like having a car that I know I am unlikely to see another of next to me at a set of lights) but the 86 does have "My next car" written all over it. This has to be the best autotrader advert for a car ever or at least the best I've read
  16. Also, the Video was aimed at someone in their late teens and, I suspect, the insurance on the 190/T-Sport/GT isn't much different to that of the GT86, in other words, way outside of most teen's budgets.
  17. Yeah that is nearly always a given with CPU upgrades, normally means an entire system. I'm not entirely convinced that the gap is as big as that for gaming. My i5 is running at 4.5ghz and and few (if any) games really take full advantage of multiple cores and hyperthreading. So I expect the Ryzen to be better, especially in more modern games but I doubt it's currently enough for me to think "Must Have!" at least, not just yet However, the fact that AMD are winning everywhere, not just in the Gaming market (where they last had dominance) is a real turn up and massive feather in their metaphorical cap. Faster and using less power, how can the hardware manufacturers not take note? (erm... Maybe we should stop this thread hi jack before a mod tells us off)
  18. The Spec's look good. I'm still running an O/C'd i5 4690K which is doing all I need of it but it is great to see AMD produce something to make Intel take note. Historically I've always been AMD biased for CPU's but of late it made little sense other than cost.
  19. Snap? hmm, more like I'm a blatant copycat After seeing yours I decided I needed something like that in my engine bay. Umm, No they didn't give me any special instruction so please share if you have some Also I am guessing that the polishes that did yours used something special to get into their important little places, and it wasn't a Q-Tip cotton bud. Total cost for all 3 parts was £120 which I thought was pretty good considering the amount of hours I would have to put in to get anything even remotely close.
  20. Not exactly in the post as I went and collected these from PB Polishers In the words of KayLee, Shiny.
  21. Something about that sort of person that needs to make disparaging comments about another's property they always seem to drive Audi's or BMW's (and to a less degree, Merc's) That isn't saying all Audi and BMW drivers are like this, just that this sort of person seems to be drawn to those cars.
  22. Can I hazard a guess that these guys drive German cars?
  23. Being sent this after I first got my GT Since then I have always planned on taking a similar picture before I get the wing removed.
  24. My turn, I guess, since I am Honda lover and not really a great fan of the Celica (but not really a Hater) Here are my thoughts on your complaints but comparing them with the Honda I previously owned, loved and didn't f***ing look after The things that I find most annoying about the car are generally petty but the sad fact was, the car just doesn't make me smile like my Prelude used to and I was looking at getting rid of it (Then I realised I didn't like anything else in my budget and importing another Prelude Type S or S Spec would cost around £13k) but it seems that you've bought entirely the wrong sort of car. Have you looked to see what similar money can buy you in the 2 door coupe market? Because I couldn't find much when I was looking.
