CRAIGZZZZz  !!!! .... Thanks for your reply , very informative erm info... lol... I feel for you man  going through all that with your gen7 to find it was bearings !!! =(  your cars fit now tho...But I must admit its my good fortune you replied as my bearings do whirr a bit , from cold sometimes it can feel quite noticeable the rocking but seems to settle after driving a bit and higher speeds don't seem to affect handling...def' going to get the bearings checked at Toyota on mon', free 15 mins ... not much time is it ,  I bet I end up shelling out for an extended diagnostic  =( get them checked and take things from there... I'll post any improvements I have .. Be good to put this behind me...wish I could do the work myself but I don't know these Celica's very well yet and its my daily driver so got to minimise the time off the rd...

      Hi Lee,

Yeah it was a slight scoring in the hub that caused the bearing to fail early...there was no evidence of play in the bearing when several mechanics checked it...yet despite changing all my suspension, I took the plunge and changed out the hub (second hand) and had a new bearing pressed in...bizarrely the issue went away.

The GEN7 is an excellent car and when performing as it can and should, you will forgive any pound notes and frustration you aired at it. They are a good car and great around country lanes. Not a point to point racer, but more of a through the country lanes racer. You'll get great support and help here and also try the newcelica.org site.

yes I think It will be worth the outlay in the end , I think gen 7's are stunning , not to say the earlier Celica's aren't art in metal, the early fast backs, Supra's, , Gen4 all excellent beauty's but for me Gen 7's ... I fell in love at first sight...had a 140 before this for a year and it hurt to part with it, like family leaving but the tsport I have now is a different beast , just seems to be on its toes the whole time and the boost... !!! addictive to say the least ... my Celica wont be leaving me for a very long time .. the journey's just starting... bearings... number one on my list ....
