  1. I guess not, my photo below of stock 140 system shows an obviously larger girth down pipe from manifold to cat, compared to a smaller pipe between resonator to rear silencer.
  2. They can actually be found as little as a quid each, but genuine Toyota are a lot dearer.
  3. Update: The Japan order via amayama failed due to 'supply restrictions' however they said to resubmit the order due to me not providing a phone number (?) Anyway, i have given them my phone number so could try to resubmit the order for the front bumper clips and screws The UAD order for rear ARB bushes failed because they took too long to approve it, perhaps because they didn't have my phone number caused teething problems setting up an account with them. Fortunately, GT4-PLAY have come to my rescue to supply a pair of genuine Toyota rear ARB bushes and quickly delivered for 21 quid
  4. Yes other Celica's, and other makes of car too. Have a look at the site here: https://gt4-play.co.uk/shop/
  5. Thanks Jim, that's good to know. Meanwhile, my Japan order for front bumper clips, screws, and nuts, etc, has been cancelled due to 'Supply Restrictions'. However, an email from amayama tells me i have to include a telephone number, and then resubmit the order (?) ...but on my orders page on the amayama site i have no means of resubmitting the order, or deleting it, or anything, [ nothing to click-on ] and it clearly states it's cancelled due to supply restrictions. Confused dot com here The other order i have with them is the UAD one for the rear ARB bushes, and this one is still flagged as 'pending approval' so i'm waiting here with bated breath My address, phone number, and details and all now correct so hopefully it won't be long. There is a need to wait for approval, for it to be good to pay - via PayPal in my case. <> Today i visited my local Mr. T, who phoned earlier to say the O rings were in. Collected them this afternoon. Total cost of four O rings = £8.87 I have that ripped off feeling
  6. I think [ ...but maybe wrong here ] the OEM 190 exhaust tubing is 2.5 inch, the 140 is 2.25 inch [ but don't quote me ] The new SS tubing i have is 2.25 the same as OEM. Technically the interior maybe very slightly larger because SS tubing is thiner than mlld steel. It probably just looks bigger because it's a far brighter and lighter coloured, compared to the old rusty crusty pipe.
  7. I couldn't agree more with this ^ But you pays your money and makes your choice. What i've purchased is not a cat-back, it is a complete manifold back system but using the original cat which is still in excellent condition. They have fashioned the system very similar to the original spec, but in 304 Stainless mandrel bent tubes. This is craftsmanship constructed by someone very skilled and happy in his work. It's incredible how smooth and refined the engine feels now with the Alunox system, more power, and with a quicker and perkier pick up. It is an absolute joy to drive. The sounds it does produce now are very easy on the ear but remain sporty in a reserved kind of way. It won't frighten the horses. But am still utterly staggered how well the engine responds now, like a new car, the engine must love the new system which has given it a new pair of lungs and a big heart. Worth every penny it cost IME
  8. To see if i get a PayPal fee? Or if i get the Royal Snail knock on my door for import duty? How long it will take to arrive? Probably be alright i know, but i like to worry about these things The rear bushes are coming via UAD. Have just put a 2nd order in for 2 x front ARB bushes and x 16 assorted clips screws and nuts for front bumper. £35.14 in total to include postage. This order will come from Japan (all going well)
  9. Thanks for the web address guys I've put an order in to amayama for 2 x bush, stabiliser rear, for a total of £13.53 (which includes postage of £5.85) It may take a week or two to arrive but i'm in no hurry. At the moment i have to wait for one of the staff to double-check the order and send me payment details. Will be interesting to see what happens...
  10. What's the website address please? 4883232120 / Bracket, Rear Stabilizer Bar, No. 1... = 63p each! I was too afraid to ask the price for those ARB bush brackets, i bet they'd be over 20 quid a pair on a good day in my local Mr. T
  11. Just had a look at the ToyoDIY site, and have found: Well that is a shame
  12. How much does the postage cost from Japan? I would think at the low goods value it's most likely not to be affected with import duty I see on the invoice, the ARB bushes are quoted singly at 4.34 each. This suggests they're always quoted as a 2 pack order. But they are a cheap as chips! Maybe this price from Japan is more inline with a trade price, which would suggest a rather large mark-up at retail in Mr. T Another observation is the number 3 type O ring part number 90099-14121 is quoted as 'Hino' (?) and being a 'gasket' (?) Can only guess some A/C components, such as the compressor, are not manufactured by Toyota.
  13. The local Mr. T guy just phoned me to say the ARB bush order is in and ready to collect. He confirmed the price to be £33 for the two, less 10% discount so just under 30 quid. He confirmed the part number & pricing is for one bush; so with VAT that must be over £16 for one! (Compared to 11.65 Euros for a pair above) Perhaps my local Mr T is simply being too greedy, or trying to put off people buying spares for older cars from them (?) <> He checked the o ring prices and said they would be in on Friday: 3 xType 1 needed / 90099-14120 = £1.20 each 1 x Type 3 needed / 90099-14121 = £1.80 each Ordered them and will buy, but not sure if i need also need a Type 2 o-ring as well (?) Still undecided about the ARB bushes, can think it over til Friday...
  14. Interesting! It looks very much like they come as a pair, and i've been quoted for two pairs, not 2 bushes. When you think about it, no one should replace one ARB bush, and they should be suppled as a pair. So 15 quid odd would be about right (for a pair) Mr T will phone me tomorrow when the order is in, i'd better not beat about the bush about it
  15. That's not any O ring, that's an OMG Ring! However, i haven't been quoted any O ring prices from my local Mr T yet I'm still smarting from the £30+ price for ARB bushes, and have that feeling i'm getting ripped' I mean next time i get the subframes refurbished i want to replace all the rubber bushes with brand new genuine Toyota.
  16. Also these diagrams below: TOYOTA CELICA ZZT230R This diagram throws up completely different part numbers to my previous post. [ So my previous post reference part numbers must be banjo bolts, and not o rings! ] Looks like 2 x number 1 type is need on the condenser: 90099-14120 And if the compressor o rings are replaced then 1 x number 1 type [as above], and 1 x number 3 type 90099-14121 is needed Can anyone confirm please?
  17. Thanks for the link. It's a bit of a maze to get lost in, but a very informative site, however the cooling pipe numbers are complicated with two diagrams, and a 'Maker' number that is different to a 'Dealer' number... The Dealer numbers are 2 x bolts for condenser: part number 91651-60625 & 2 x bolts for compressor: part number 91511-J0625. The 'Maker' number is for 4 x bolts that are the same for both the compressor and the condenser unit: part number 91511-60625 All the above number references show what looks like a bolt (banjo type bolt?) but does not clearly show any o rings, so i don't know if the o rings come with the bolts or not. Still very puzzled here, maybe easier to source suitably sized o rings from a nearby A/C and refrigeration retail shop when the old condenser comes out (?)
  18. Earlier today went into my local Mr.T to order a pair of genuine Toyota ARB bushes for the rear... got quoted £15.90 each. Almost 32 quid a pair seems rather a lot, but is this the going rate? Probably get 10% discount off, will find out later... Also tried to order genuine Toyota A/C condenser O rings, but this confused the guy, after spending 5 minutes on his computer in a back room behind a closed door, he came back to me and said they only come with the AC pipe kit and o rings can't be supplied on their own I'm not sure i need the pipe kit as well, or how expensive it is, probably a lot more than just the rings. Does anyone know the Toyota part number for the condenser O rings? Also are they the same as the compressor O rings? And how many are there? Thanks for any info help Debs
  19. It would be better if Mr.T sold the genuine original OEM cat separately; minus the weight and length of mild steel pipe and resonator to simplify packaging and greatly lower the cost overall.
  20. There are various options and ways to have a SS custom fit exhaust, it's great we have choice to suit out personal requirements. The important thing is we get what we want. The original system on my car was blowing at the rear silencer, and the inlet pipe adjoining it was holed too and threatening to come away. The decision i made to replace it is expensive but a very nice piece of metal craftwork, i wasn't expecting the engine to become so more perky and smooth, it's a real joy to drive now. There remains a sporty riff with higher revs but even this is subdued in volume, don't think it's gained any more horses at higher revs [not sure yet] but need to be careful in 30 and 40mph zones due to quieter and smoother ease of acceleration. A far more refined car to drive now, except my ears are focused on a worn ARB bush clunk which has been there for some time but is on my things to do list.
  21. Yes it's great value for money, about the same expense as a mere 4 years VED
  22. £950 + VAT This includes replacing the down-pipe from the manifold and reusing the original cat, they didn't have any problems welding it up to the new 304 SS. May seem a lot, and it is, but it's quality, and works out to be about the same cost of a brand new genuine mild steel Toyota mid-section alone.
  23. The new Alunox custom fit exhaust system has transformed the engine performance with noticeable more torque, not huge but it definitely picks up better from low revs. The drive is far smoother than with the old system, i didn't realise how much refinement the original rusty old pipework was holding back. Should have got this done this years ago I opted for a quiet system, probably too quiet for most of you chavs here but i'm very happy with the results, plus no nauseous cabin drone at all, at motorway cruising speed it's so peaceful one can hear sparrows fart as they fly past, and the CD/Radio resolution benefits from the tranquility too. Perfect!
