  1. Hey guys Its good to be back on here and posting again. Cause my car has been sitting still for 2 weeks, the rear hubs are caked in orange rust from the rain just sitting on them while ive been away. Cleaned the car today and it ruins the look completley. How do i get the orange look off the hubs? Or will it eventually go the more i drive the car?
  2. Yeah they were in a right state. Although i did see a 23 year old nova gsi in mint condition out there. Lol. Lol. Yeah we done plenty of better things but car spotting was a daily thing for me to do. Lol. And the chatting with dukey was only the last couple of days. Lol. Thats cool dude. We went to the part called playa la arena. Its the south side of the island. Its not as touristy as the north side but it depends what your after mate. If you want a touristy noisy hectic break, then go to playa la americas. But if you want a more quiet break then playa la arena is your place. Its still got a couple of nice beaches but the americas side has the more popular beaches with the water sports and activities going on. Weather's slightly warmer on the south side of the island. Hope all this helps. Lol.
  3. Hey guys Im back. Just got back from 10 night honeymoon in tenerife. The whole time i was out there i see 1 Gen 5 celica and 1 Gen 6 celica GT in white. That was it. Don't they know a good car when they see one. And mind you, both these celica's were proper dirty. I couldn't look for too long. It was painfull. Covered in dust and had paint fading all over. Like they were peeling. But, one good thing happened. What a small world. A fellow CCUK member was staying at the same resort as me. Dukey88. He's from the Gen 7 clan but still a Celica owner none the less. LOL. So we had plenty to talk about while my misses sat there bored. LOL.
  4. Ok nice one dude. Ill make sure i slightly over rev each gear. Its quite annoying now cause im not too sure it is the clutch. Ever since I've been driving it properly it hasn't skipped once. Which of course is a good thing. And even yesterday i was forced to put my foot down in 1ST and 2nd coming out of a junction due to a bike coming round the corner quite fast and didn't want to get in his way. Even when i opened her up a little then it didn't slip. I must have revved her quite fast up to 4500rpm in both gears. But no slipping. My mate turned around and said it might not be the clutch and could be the flywheel having hot spots. I don't wanna spend a few hundred on getting the clutch done if that aint Whats wrong with it.
  5. Arizona thanks for the straight answer. Lol. Rizla thanks for that tip. I thought that bringing the clutch up slowly will ware the clutch down more cause ill be riding the clutch a little bit.
  6. Ok. Thats a good thing. At least that'll go away when the clutch gets done. If it wasn't cause of the clutch, that'd be something else wrong with the car. Is it gunna feel like a different car once i get the clutch done?
  7. Nice one. Cheers guys. Been driving her really carefully. Think its the first time I've concentrated while driving. Usually i just get in and drive. Don't like it. Lol. Oh and sometimes when i go to pull away, the whole car vibrates and shakes. Is this cause of the clutch?
  8. Im in the same boat as you mate. About a couple of months til got cash. So i might be getting my bike out too.
  9. Shit. Im hoping it'll last at least a couple of months. Just need to pay for the church and then can get my new clutch. Or if it goes before the church is paid for then it's gunna have to get done then. I don't want it to Fuck the flywheel up too.
  10. Yeah im being really gentle. Sometimes it feels like im driving too slow. But i don't give a Damn if i annoy anyone for driving slow. Don't wanna kill it til i got the cash to get it fixed.
  11. Hey guys. Very wierd thread but gunna ask it anyway just to be safe. As some of you know my clutch has started slipping. It only does it in 1ST and 2nd So far and doesn't do it all the time. Im very cautious when im driving now cause probably won't be able to get it fixed for a couple of months. Not good i know. Money's really tight at the mo. How should i be driving the car? Change gear at low revs each time? Change gear at higher revs? At the moment im changing gear between 3000 for 4000. Sticking it in neutral and taking foot off the clutch when stopped at lights or roundabout.
  12. Yeah. That one will fit on your car cause you've got a newer one. But the bloke said it wouldn't fit in my 1997 car. Unfortunately. I'd have to keep searching i suppose. LOL.
  13. Here's the link to the one i was looking at. And when i emailed them to ask if it would fit on a 1997 celica, they said no, only newer cars with phantom aerials. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200705253833?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 So from what they said, all i can think of is the connection is different that plugs into the aerial lead. Or are they all the same in older and newer cars?
  14. Mate are you definitely sure that fits a celica? I emailed the seller about that exact one and they come back to me saying it wouldn't fit a 1997 celica. Its for newer cars with phantom aerial's. Cause this was the one i was gunna buy.
  15. Just read the link you posted, silver, and im a dickhead. Everytime I've been arming the alarm, I've been double pressing the button thinking it was a more secure lock. But now I've learnt that double pressing it, deactivates the interior protection. Well from now on im only gunna press it once. Cheers for the link dude.
  16. Hey guys. I've got a multimetre So ill check it over the weekend. I think ill choco block it into the ignition live just to be safe. I've got to get a booster yet. All the one's i found on ebay for less than a tenner, didn't do one for my car. They were all for newer cars. Might pop to halfords and see if they got one.
  17. Only reason I'll do the choco block is cause i got loads of them on the van. But aint got a scotch lok. So your saying the black could be the ignition and not the yellow? I thought it was either the red or the yellow. One power and one ignition.
  18. Oh ok. I was also thinking a choco block. But i suppose the skotch lok is safer. Lol.
  19. I think its yellow on mine. And the red is the ignition live. Right can someone talk us through how to do it. If i was to tap into the power for the headunit, how do i do it cause the yellow has a male and female, but they're connected together So there's no room to stick the connector from the booster. How do i tap into it?
  20. Nice one dude. Cheers mate. Ill check out the link.
  21. Oh Yeah. Good thinking batman. Ill try wiring it into there.
  22. Hey guys. Can someone tell me where i can find a 12v supply near the headunit inside the dash? I need to tap an aerial booster into it. How about the power wire running to the headunit? Can i tap it into that? If i can, which colour wire is the power? Lol.
  23. Oh ok. Wicked. And the gen 6 1997 GT definitley has this system as standard? Thats quite cool man. I feel more relaxed now.
  24. Ooooohhhhhhh. I see. So how will that pick up if anyone's inside the car without opening the door or boot? I thought there would have to be a sensor inside the car that set the alarm off when it detected someone inside it. How does this sensor work then if its hidden dude?
