Yeh it's an auto. I don't want to damage the auto cooler hoses by clamping them with mole grips though. I might get away with using some of the spare hose off my aquarium, to temporarily join the 2 ends together, as I think the diameter should be a good fit. I beleive the following steps are correct. Remove the 2 electric fans from the radiator, make sure any wires are clear. Unbolt the radiator and slide it up and out after removing the hoses. Then get the hose pipe in there on full blast to flush the system through. Have I missed anything?

If you where closer mate I'd take you up on it. I'm having to keep the revs below 2.5k to stop decorating the windscreen so motorways are a no no at the moment. I'm going to have a go myself, I've just got to remember to be patient :rolleyes: I'll see if the local motor factors has a couple of crimpers for the bottom hoses to the transmission, that's probably my only stumbling block hopefully.

Well you can't blame me for trying. The 2 hoses from my transmission into the bottom of the Rad, I'm gussing i'll need to clamp them off before removing them, to prevent transmission fluid all over my shoes? Also may be a good idea to get some replacement bolts for all the ones I'll be shearing off and a drill and tap and dye set for the bolts that shear off flush to the body frame. Call me pesemistic but my kharma is not good whenever i do DIY in the home or on the car. :rolleyes:

Doooon't do what I did. I sold mine when the little one came along. I still regret it now (not the little one), what I should have done was SORN it for 12 months with laid up insurance and bought a shit 4 door run around. Basically that's what I ended up with a RAV4 and it was complete bollox to drive but traded my Celica for it. As soon as Anya was 12 months old I traded again for a Gen6 and kicked myself for ever getting rid of the Gen5.

Please don't tell me acetone mixed with the juice improves car performance and economy. I once worked for a firm that had barrels of the stuff on tap.

Well I know mine must be empty and possibly the seals will be perished. It's a mute point for me because the gas used for my system is now banned and I believe if I want to re gas then I would have to upgrade the whole system to accommodate the new type of gas. There was a thread on here a couple of years ago about this subject, with some tips on how to get re gas if your car isn't too old like mine. If I find it I'll post it on here.

If it's going to cause a major con flab. why not as already suggested post a sticky in the mods forum, for all vert related questions. That way everyone is catered for. just put a flagged message up asking anyone with a question not covered to post "vert question" in their subject box. Also direct any newbies to the newbie forum, with that in mind. Probably not to everyones liking but, might solve the issue.
