  5. I have some eBay rears and went for the slightly more expensive ones.. about £17 IIRC.. Had them on for a few weeks now and handling is much improved. Few people have said that the nuts aren't the best so you might be better re-using the stock nuts.
  6. Bought some rims off MikePower last night (cheers Mike!) Was wondering if my current tyres will fit on them. The tyres coming off are 215/40/17, the tyres I want to put on are 205/45/17. Will they fit? And also the wheels are slightly different, mine are 7.5j and these are 7j - what does this mean & will there be any change in stance?
  7. Niiice, she loves the Singer Gazelle
  8. My workmate is looking to buy a classic weekend car. Her original idea was a Morris Minor Convertible. I think that's a bad idea!!! Needs to be very retro, ideally cream paintwork with red canvas I was thinking along the MG / Triumph line of thought.... Budget around £3k - £7k
  9. Sounds like a right deal. I got quoted a few weeks ago for *Spoiler respray *Rear wing gorge-dent fill & respray *Front wing deep chip repair & spray 1st place was £450, 2nd place was £440. Needless to say I've not taken either up yet Also make sure you know where you stand with the VAT, as stated prices are usually without the VAT so he might try to increase the price on you..
  10. What condition are the wheels in? Would you consider selling these separately?
  11. Haha fancy that - found it on the first search attempt on google images Well folks this is a larger pic of the newly identified "Motegi Mr7" 17's. I really like them, but maybe not quite enough to track down and import a set?!?! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/474335/2001-toyota-celica Just looking at their site now, they make some gorgeous rims http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels/?siteid=4&groupid=56 http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels/1/?wheelid=MR1254&siteid=4&groupid=56&page1=1
  12. The urban racers are definitely the closest I've seen - it's hard to tell from that pic but it does look like the spokes haven't got that groove running down each spoke, plus there's the holes between the studs. I saved this pic on my phone when i was searching once, suppose I'll have to search through a few dozen pages to try to find the original site!
  13. Can't find a bigger pic folks, sorry! They look like 18's to me - anyone agree? Angus, they are similar but I think yours are thicker I'm not sure what to do, don't think I'll be getting a kit or lip/skirts, or bigger breaks. That means I'll have to be careful having too much gap between the spokes.
  14. Any ideas or is there anything very similar about?
  15. Agree, someone is going to get a bargain. Reason I'm posting is I noticed that our first 4 letters of registration plate are exactly the same!!! Must be a close relation? Or, you've cloned my plate :(
  16. I work for a chemical manufacturer so the stuff I have available will be free of impurities... Think I'll start a few tests of my own. I've not yet finished my 2nd tank after adding BG44K yet though - so maybe have to leave it a few tanks to prevent any outside influences affecting the result. I'd love to hit 400 miles out of a tank but most I've ever had was 326.
  17. How much acetone were you adding during the tests Ed?
  18. Just read this monster thread on another forum from a few years back. It's an interesting read and I'm very tempted to give it a go. In the amount we're talking (1 part in 400), ie about 135ml in our tanks, I agree with most on the thread - it's not going to do any serious damage to rubber components since it's so diluted.
  19. What a shit advert... not even going to mention the asking price either
  20. I currently work for a firm who has barrels of the stuff on tap What's the score with it then? Or are you going to make me find out for myself.. If it's genuine and not dodgy I could organise a group buy no problems...
  21. I sold my GF's 2005 Corsa recently. Wasn't in mint condition, above average mileage, part service history, put it on Autotrader online for £2,350, which was £100 above the 'Private Sale' figure on the Parkers SMS valuation service. Sold to the first viewer 2 days after the ad went up, 2nd phone call, for £2,200. Told him it'd never been in accident, all original panels etc.. What he didn't ask was if it'd had any mechanical failure - the Camshaft had literally snapped TWICE in 2 years (manufacturing fault that VX won't take responsibility for), so it was a ticking time bomb. But he didn't ask. We'd been offered as low as £1,200 Part-Ex at Ford, would have been happy with £1,800 private sale bearing in mind the history, so were made up when we got £2,200. Guess you have to ask the right questions - often 'no accidents' is true but it should lead you to digging a bit deeper.... death rattle springs to mind here. It's great what a valet and a clean engine bay can do for a sale.
  22. Can't help sorry, but you might be better looking on the members map and PMing a few people?
