  1. If you've only got 3mm of rounded nut left, hammering a socket on is unlikely to work - you'll probably have to drill out the stud, then fit a new one. Unless you have access to a mig - you could weld a smaller hex head onto it.
  2. I won't ever get over it financially - lost about £150k in cars and equipment, emotionally I got over it a week later, when something much worse happened, which I won't go into.
  3. I couldn't even manage f**k me - I was truly speecless for quite a time.
  4. Just to clarify the point I was making about the wheels - the front passenger wheel looks like an advan rc2 or similar, it 's the more complete rear wheel that I meant was the same as the original pictures, and probably both on the other side - after all, who has 5 aftermarket wheels ? Get a puncture and it's either an odd, but similar wheel - or a spacesaver and 30 mph.
  5. I looked closely - then closer still, then got some other opinions. They're the same wheels - but if you want to think differently, that's ok by me.
  6. Life has a way of putting things into perspective - there are worse things than just loosing possesions.
  7. No, they were never recovered - weighed in for scrap probabl. There was a widebody celica supra, Lancia montecarlo spyder, 2 fulvia 1600 HF, a sunbeam talbot Alpine, and a bmw 2002 tii - plus all my heavy workshop equipment, shotblasters, folders, an english wheel, and welding/cutting tools. It was a bad day !
  8. Nope - they're the same wheels, painted white hides the fluted edges.
  9. I had 6 cars stolen from storage last year - all uninsured, that made me feel sick for a good few days.
  10. If it was on facebook - then I'm not worried, as I don't use it. If it was on a mainstream site, then I am worried, I check them daily - especially for white ones.
  11. I'm curious where you saw it for sale - I'm normally on the ball with ads for the CS and RC cars, I didn't see it anywhere
  12. So, should we be celebrating that our cars have just gone up in value, now that they're that bit rarer now.
  13. If you ask them - they'd tell you it's to remove any physical forensic evidence, but in truth, it's because they're just scum and don't like people having nice things.
  14. Someone has probably already worked out it's LE number, and informed the register that it's gone - bummer, that's another white one gone.
  15. That's sickening - I hope it's repairable.
  16. That won't stand out like a sore thumb - I've only ever seen one on the road.
  17. You wouldn't have much fun sat in skinny's passenger seat - unless you can make brum brum noises.
  18. Thanks for the promotion Scott :xmas_biggrin: I am expert in a few things, but not celica's - or even mechanics in general, I'm just an enthusiast, maybe a bit more enthusiastic about certain variants than most, maybe even a gifted amateur - not an expert though. My comment wasn't a dig at Martin - one of a select few people I actually take his advice as gospel. I've dealt with Rob, and supplied some of the parts he'll be using to acheive his goals. He has a rare thing which I envy, but can also be dangerous if left untempered - boundless enthusiasm, you can tell from his posts. I'd hate for his enthusiasm to get the better of him. He has hardware capable of well over 400 bhp, beyond the limits of an old, stock 205 engine in a fwd chassis.
  19. All these goodies on a non - forged engine, I can see upset looming.
  20. Courts can choose to accept or reject whatever evidence is put before - I'm afraid it's the halfwitts sitting in positions of power in the uk causing most,if not all the outrages to justice.
  21. Some of the plugs are easy it's the challenge that makes them so appealing.
  22. The cps now require a 90% probability of a conviction, before they will launch a prosecution - to***rs. When my celica supra was totalled by a lorry on the m/way - ran me into the central armco - then failed to stop, I provided a photo of the lorry making good his escape, the full reg no, the company logo on the side curtains, did they prosecute ? Not at first, I had to start private proceedings against the company - that managed to shock them into action. One thing's for sure, things aint what they used to be, and getting worse by the day.
