  3. New Wheels nuts as the 'key' for the original ones has sheared :-/
  4. i got registered (i think) etc but when you put your details in (phone number, address, car reg) it just sits there, er, doing something. I think (little timer thingy just sits there spinning and did so all night).
  5. New rubber, courtesy of camskill Falken ZE914's (although the rating on the site is different to the rating on the labels) Fuel Eff E, Wet Grip B
  6. If its not rust then I would suggest its been in contact with some form of chemical that it really hasn't agreed with - the fact that it is small bumps all over the place is really strange. Unfortunately you wont find out if there's anything sinister going on underneath unless you rub the paint back.
  7. Normally rust will cause the paint bubble up, Any break in the paint work at all?
  8. Thank you mr postman! Will be installed Monday and then thats the faff back on the road after 2 months
  9. New radiator hoses, just need the new radiator now!
  10. I've not had anyone call my car any bad names but the biggest insult I received was some goon in a Saxo VTS trying to take me on. WTF?!!!!!
  11. Ok thanks for all the responses guys the radiator is the first thing that is getting done in jan the leak is VERY small at the moment, luckily my local garage is literally 200 metres away from my house. Ive always started the car up and not let it get to temperature fully - theres been no spike in the temp gauge so im hoping everythig is ok. I shall get them to do a compression test once the radiator is squared away. Really hoping its not the head gasket I've had so much go wrong with the car in the short space I've had it! I need a bit of good luck right now!
  12. Too thick to be steam I think personally. Although could it be something to do with the fact that my radiator is cracked? - it's not blown it just lets off a very small amount of steam when the engine gets up to temperature.
  13. Hi everyone, Recently had a new cat installed, ever since I've noticed that there's a fair bit of white smoke coming out the exhaust, I'm not taking the car out on the road just keeping it ticking over at the moment as the radiator is shot. I'm concerned its the gasket gone but on another forum I went on they reckon the cat on an st205 never fails. Any thoughts? Cheers
  14. Parcel from Joecard71.......... ........Euro Splitters! Cheers Joel Top man!
  15. Happy Anniversary james.peebles!

  16. if this stuff actually works then id be interested
  17. Take the calipers off if you're using an aerosol paint for definite, if you're using a brush and a tin then leave them in situ its fine. Have you tried to steam clean the calipers to lift all the crap off? With the metal so uneven on calipers prep gently with scotch brite and clean the caliper thoroughly - again a hand held steam cleaner is invaluable.
  18. Ah damnit - im out and about today otherwise i would have taken you up on that - the car seems to be driving alright so im just going to keep an eye on it. If the weather is still dry when i get home ill take the plastic underpanel off the bumper and have a peek (thats where the leak was coming from. Thanks anyway mate vc
  19. hmmmm - the car is booked to go in to have a new power steering belt fitted but ill check the reservoir again
  20. Hi people, you'll have to forgive me and my appaling lack of technical knowledge but Ive just been out in the 205 and noticed a small wet patch under the front of the car - funky smell with a pinkish tint to it. looked under the bonnet (not sure why lol) and checked all the reservoir levels and all looked good, however, I cant see the level on the coolant reservoir. To be honest the fill line is so far down i couldnt quite see it properly anyway. Ive probably answered my own question here but if anyone has the knowledge I lend you my ears (but i want them back!)
  21. Thanks guys ill get under the bonnet at lunch and see whats what
  22. Thanks, if its not leaking fluid where do your thoughts go then? Im concerned im looking at a new clutch/gearbox refurb :-/ Only had the car a month!
  23. Hi guys - was racing a motor off a set of traffic lights at the weekend, built up the revs, let the clutch out and..... pedal stuck to the floor and wouldnt shift :-/ took it out of gear and tried again, same result. but when I drove the car off normally I had absolutely no issues whatsoever (apart from an obvious smell of burning clutch!). Any ideas? is this just a case of me asking to much from the clutch? Gear change in general seems to be dodgy when putting any kind of duress on the car but totally fine if im being gentle with it. HELP!!!!!
