  1. I'll remember that one Thanks to stuff have learnt on here the first time i worked with him he did indeed keep supplied with coffee after a conversation about wheel offsets/spacers and what the numbers on a rim meant
  2. much kudos points earned from youngsters at work i've found , overheard not long after starting new job "what you think of the new manager?" "she's a ledge, man you seen her cars?, you wanna hear that vert on overrun and i want that gt4"
  3. I'm a qualified hairdresser, ex motorcaravan fitter, over the last few years manager in retail and er older than i want to be gen 7 ? nah other gen 6 verts i've seen driven by similar age ladies, though not as modded or noisy..... but then i have the 185 ........... It all started with seeing a 1.8 ST on ebay when was looking for a cheapie after the then current car had failed its mot miserably, found this place and got the bug after realizing what a reliable fun car it was
  4. thermostat or the sensor on the bottom of rad?
  5. I use Halfords Deluxe size Large and no problems for the last few years. Make sure the car is clean and throw a cotton sheet over it first, cover on top. This stops any light scuffing caused by wind movement of cover
  6. Nice compliment today from the guys at the local tyre bay. After getting a couple of winter tyres swapped onto spares and balanced I went into reception area to pay and was told no charge, there wont ever be any charge come by anytime you want any swapped he said, smiling ? confused, i've never bought tyres there only ever get them put on rims He went on to say , see we like your car it sounds great and looks good out the front so we like looking after you, oh and last time you gave us biscuits I was on way to supermarket so while there i picked up some tunnocks teacakes, custard tarts and chocolate eclairs and a case of full fat coke and dropped it off on the way back which was met by beaming grins and downed tools
  7. Much prefer the gen 6 interior to the 7, esp with leather seats. The leathers in gen 7's go saggy on the bases whereas mine look nearly as good as they did when they were put in there 18 years ago. One of the best upgrades i had for the car was the led's throughout the car and dash (by Spree) really makes a difference and modernizes the look
  8. any useful tips on this thread? http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/163986-sports-m-scoop-issue/
  9. I have a bad habit of making the odd pedestrian/old person jump by just backing off the throttle and then applying lightly to produce a good loud pop just as get level with them
  10. I was on the 272 this morning, nice run with the top down from Lingfield ending up at Beks and then when left later on tried out Beks favourite bit of road near him before hitting the A3 and Hindhead Tunnel Fav moments this week also were whilst giving a lady at petrol garage a hand with getting a stuck fuel filler cover open (half a dozen guys on the forecourt ignored her plight grrr) she pointed to mine and said boy do i wish i had one of those. Few times when you drive past someone and they look, then you look in the mirror and they've turned and are still looking, always a smile moment
  11. Not exactly in the post but this morning did i know i needed this? nope cool though, 8ft long and made from one tree trunk
  12. Last week driving with the top down got 'nice car' shouted from people on foot twice in one day and again when parked up at a local garden centre from the guy next to me who wanted to know more about the car
  13. Yep my spare Oz wheels got borrowed for ex fellas Avensis, ended up with a 7am angry visit to his house though armed with a jack and a breaker bar to repossess them in the end
  14. Wheels are interchangeable between all the gens so i think the bore must be the same. I have gen 5 gt4 and gen 6, the 6 has some wheels on it from the gen 5 at the mo..the other 2 wheels on the gen 6 came from a gen 7 (my good alloys are in for repair)
  15. On a budget looking for a couple of tyres on ebay, found these 914's , 45 profile 6.5mm tread , bargain just need 2 more now to get the vert off those 35 profiles ready for when the cracked wheel is fixed, like the way it drives on 35's but cant be doing with wheel repairs every few months
  16. my next buy for the car i think, took a look at my one and it has a sticker on the top stating it will need recharging in 2006 , fek knows hold old that is
  17. Booster pack kit is worth its weight in gold in this situation, i have one in the boot now after getting caught out twice
  18. Handy to know that, was considering rewashing them both again this afternoon, maybe i'll leave that....
  19. oh yes, bloody covered and had washed both cars the day before grrr
  20. Mook on here is the fella for graphics, skewer.co.uk maybe get them done by him and have somebody recommended locally to fit if you arent confident to do?
  21. Looking at that list i'd say it wasnt too bad either brakes, as Old Red says tyres ditto brake fluid ditto radiator, bet is the bottom corner leaking as is the general with gen 7's emmisions and the smoke, knocking etc - its a knacked oil burner?....... so prob wants another engine
  22. Happy Anniversary arizona!
