  1. I cant find the details at the moment but Frodo put me onto some good stuff for cleaning the hood. I've been in equestrian trade for a long time and for cleaning all outdoor rugs and clothing including canvas we never used non bio, it was always non detergent People would come in asking why their stuff was not waterproof anymore but they had been washing in non bio. The detergent in washing powder strips away the waterproofing. I have some nikwax techwash which is non detergent which i would rather use if i didnt have the proper stuff to hand
  2. I often ring round to see what part worns are available, year before last i got 4 michelins that had very little wear for £20 each fitted and balanced inc vat.
  3. No it doesnt, as long as is SORNed and not parked on the road
  4. Cant imagine how painful that must've been, something we've all done when 'just doing a quick job' Bad enough to lose sight in one eye but lucky it wasnt both. Hope you are home soon. I've been in casualty several times after picking up a grinder and not bothering with goggles in my old job, i think your post might well make us all think twice before taking chances x
  5. I had a couple of 40's on the MX6 soon did both of them on potholes, not even big holes :-(
  6. Yes, when you said maybe remove that part it was also something i'd been wondering so that made my mind up. Will give it a few days but i'm liking it better like this :-)
  7. I'm still not sure about it so i just been out and removed some...
  8. Dan, i hope you change your mind about selling. You're just not feeling the love for it just now because of the recent probs but its got so much going for it now you've got this far surely worth persevering. If you didnt have a celi just now and you saw your ad i reckon you'd be wanting to buy it looking at all the things that have been done?
  9. My thoughts too were that it looks tacky and just plain wrong. I wondered about removing part of it leaving just the bit going up the bonnet (put thumb on pic to block out that bit) and see if that was better, i have another one i could use (or use part of) to balance it up? Thanks for your opinions guys(and Cait) keep 'em coming, at the moment its close to being removed next weekend unless it grows on me
  10. Hmmm so i did this and now i'm not so sure...... (Frodo's probably looking at this thinking wtf has she done to my old car) Thoughts?
  11. Tis the same all round - the mx6 i just sold was a lot of car and low mileage too but no ones buying, i looked on ebay for a while before selling and there were some nice ones on there not getting any bids at £300 even with longish mot. I bought it for £100 with 4 mth mot and was lucky the apprentice at the mot place fell in love with it so when i got the vert and didnt need it anymore sold it to him for £400 with failed mot. I will probably take the vert off the road for the winter months and the way gt4 prices are going i might :-)
  12. If you have driver coming down this way am Godstone, jct 6 m25, welcome to borrow :-)
  13. Surrey/Kent border, no good either i guess.
  14. I've also got a spare set of gen 6 wheels , not sure where you're located though?
  15. My verts an M reg with 61,000 - reason vert likely to have less, stored over winter :-) And no i dont like the veilside either
  16. If you have spoken to Nix already by pm about this and now there has been a gap in that convo have you just hit the reply button to continue or sent him a fresh message? With this new look site if you dont start afresh and the other person has cleared their inbox then the new message doesnt get there.
  17. Lol, that was me put it in your head Yep, the facelift bumper option is def the way to go. Prefer the look of that too
  18. Ah, thankyou Celicababe, have just been outside with a torch as well and yep just as you said , i will have a look at the link you left, i have been trawling for them for the last couple of weeks, no wonder i couldnt find anything. And DMC thankyou too, i did get a wave of hope there when i saw that, wonder how many disappointed customers they have when they realise too late they not going to fit
  19. Are they? It says Celica 93-95 on there, surely that makes them the right ones?
  20. I will, clear would do but i just cant seem to find any, lol, this de-oranging is bugging me now i've done the side repeaters
  21. I've got the crystal side repeaters but i cant find any fronts , all the ads on Ebay say '96-'99 and mine's a '95 So is it possible to get them for a prefacelift? Anyone know?
  22. Well i hope things have calmed down a bit this morning and you two are able to talk about things without it getting into another argument, she must have been pretty mad to have done that last night, in a rage and on impulse is probably feeling bad about it also this morning. As you probably are too over the reaction it caused in you. Guys shouldnt hit women, but girls shouldnt hit guys either or key their cars. And Liams suggestion above, not even worth commenting on If your both still angry, disappearing out for the day might be the best thing to give you both a bit of time out?
  23. Holy moley that must have been some disagreement, thats well out of order no wonder your angry!
  24. Yep, same happened to me, 2 yrs with Swiftcover but this year they wanted £540 and that was before adding such things as no claims protection, legal protection, windscreen etc. Before it was £260 on my old ST 1.8 TPFT, now i have the vert i had asked for fully comp and they said this was the best they could do. I went trawling about and got fully comp for the GT Vert for £225, much better it pays to shop around each year for a better deal
