  1. ditto, i get told off for backing off the throttle slightly when passing pedestrians
  2. The lary 185 hasnt been out yet so that should be interesting but the vert often gets comments and head turns Some memorable ones in the last few months was the fella with his girlfriend walking along the pavement who fell over his own feet trying to see what it was as went past, a top down moment on the a3 when some guys in a 4x4 tooted and yelled awesome, respect with thumbs up out of the window (that may have also been the rumbling exhaust) and just the other day on a miserable monday morning drive to work in the traffic a couple of guys in a van tooted from the lane next to me, pointed at the car and gave a thumbs up, cheered my morning
  3. i think its different, you should tax it on the small tear off slip you have as the new owner
  4. isnt specific to the vert, any secondhand facelift uk spec
  5. Martins a top fella, knows his stuff, it'll be in good hands
  6. busted Mine's off the road too but when it's back am not far down the a3 near Godalming, will also be looking at cameras for the collection on the drive.
  7. Mindless scum , have you got a local community board facebook? Someone may have seen/heard something Whereabouts Surrey are you?
  8. I havent done it for a while, just down to outgoings really but i used to and will again. Used to take the motorbike out and be out who knows where just enjoying the open roads on a summers night and slip back into the house about 3/4am Note to dads on here. If your daughter is returning at this time and you catch her, dont jump to conclusions - she may just have a secret motorbike......
  9. Buy some platform shoes........ thats not helping is it
  10. I get an advisory sometimes and not others depending on which tester does the vert at the garage. But always with the comment, dont take any notice of that i love how this thing sounds and a Though the last policeman on hearing the rumble as i was trying not to draw attention pulling away from the lights i saw in my rear view mirror step out into the road and squat down with a wtf is on that look on his face
  11. Mine were pulled off and lobbed in the skip by the exhaust place i popped into when mine were rattling on a previous gen 6 i had 'There you go love, problem solved' he grinned
  12. If you can secure it with some wire/coathanger it'd be better as constant movement if its wobbly could cause a break at a weak point if there is one or another mount to be at risk if its having to support more than before tbh i'd keep an eye on it and keep going, see if you can drop into an exhaust place tomorrow and get a new mount popped on dont forget to check your oil before you come back
  13. I'd keep going, stop at the next services and see if you can see if its just an exhaust mount broken, give the exhaust a wiggle (hot, careful and if that's all it is.... you got aa/rac?
  14. I'd say 3M but you'd need to rub the whole roof down very well as any little blemish will show through, even more so with shiny black and as said above it may lift remaining laquer that is slightly loose and wont stick. Personally i wouldnt after having a go at a bumper a year or so back which ended up getting sprayed anyway
  15. Good one Tabba Winter late night top down, heater on and its not cold
  16. Well done Tomb this was me a few weeks back infiltrating an mg meet..which gave me the idea over to you for the next challenge
  17. New challenge is to gatecrash someone's car meet (non Jap) and get a pic of yours in their line up bonus kudos for a Morris Minor or classic Ford meet...
  18. Dropped into Wicked Wheels in Guildford today and look what's next door have i won?
  19. How annoying I'm no mechanic but if a fuel pump starts to fail i wonder if that can cause intermittent problems.....
  20. realistically i think she most likely would have sold it anyway with no mot anyone who does pay that sort of price for it would be an idiot
  21. agree , though have the 185 (it wont be long before its back on the road again) the gen 6 is the best for performance/weight etc. I still remember the sight of Adex in my rear view mirror veins popping as we tried to bump start the 185 outside his place once, I like mine for the smile factor, the pop ups and i dont need more performance than it has if i was looking at a gen 6 this one i like http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/classifieds/item/1341-celica-st205/
