  1. I'd been with Greenlight for years until this year as they weren't doing Agreed Valuation any more, which I needed for my Gen4,so I now have both my cars with Flux.Although they are on modified policies, but yeah shop around with the names the guys have mentioned.Mileage is an important consideration as is whether it is a second car,not a daily,if a second vehicle with low annual mileage, then you should be able to get a classic policy that suits. Flux do those too,for your reference.
  2. I've seen a few Gen4 coupes that have been made to look quite cool, but IMO that sort of shape worked better on the earlier models, not sure if they sit as well from the Gen4 onwards. The Gen7 pic, lol, looks like a genetic experiment where a 7th gen has assaulted an MR2 from behind. And it didnt end well for either
  3. Yeah for the -GE engine, available for SSII-SSIII cars with BEAMS engines, E56 type box and S54-06D. I've got the S54 LSD fitted with the BEAMS unit transplanted into my Gen4
  4. Ah right, only wanted to confirm.I couldnt open the bonnet on my car at Simply Jap the other year when someone asked to have a look at the engine. The cable was connected to the handle as normal but was slack with no tension. After getting home I jacked the car up and took off the front undertray and managed to pop the bonnet manually from under the car (handy having A/C delete so nice gap). It was just a small triangular nylon 'cone' thats part of the end piece of the cable assembly that sits in a recess to give tension at the bonnet latch end.It just needed reseating in its slot,it had popped up and out, making the cable too slack to pull hard on the latch.I used a teeny-tiny cable tie to strap it down so it cant pop up and out again, the cable itself moves back and forth through it.After 30 odd years it wasnt in there as tight as it should be so after umpteen uses it was likely to pop out again at some stage.
  5. I'm assuming the pull handle inside the car wont even budge itself, not the handle loose and not pulling the release?
  6. Have to say i used the Toyota premix Bryan mentions in my 87 gen4, when i had the original Rev1 engine. It was still tip top when i swapped it out for the Beams unit, still use same coolant in that
  7. You do have some incredible cars over there, but then you always have really.Great display of cars, personally for me Celica wise its great to see the Gen3 and especially the Gen4's in the mix, they are lovely examples. Is that Desy's white ST205 there? Saw him at a JAE with it one year, mint car and good guy.
  8. You'll get bored of this soon, but hey that's all your own fault for not taking enough pics of your own cars! Get on it!! GT4Play open day today.Amazing weather!
  9. Just stood back up,had another look, and will have another lie down to think about it before work tonight!
  10. The colour of Kev's car still strangely fascinates me after all these years . It's not just simply white, but it sort of is.And its not typical of the creamy off whites Toyota used.Sometimes it looks like its got the faintest hint of a spearmint kind of hue about it,but it sort of hasn't.And it always looks kind of different in almost every pic I see of it,and when I've seen it in different lights up close. But its not a pearl either so it shouldn't technically refract light particularly either. My brain can't seem to figure out what my eyes tell me should be a straightforward evaluation. I'm going to lie down and think about it.
  11. Nice to have the choice,as you say 1st world problem
  12. He charges for the images sent to you digitally then you can do what you want with them,he sends you proof pics with watermark copyrights across them so you can choose which images you want. Quote: I charge £8 per hi res file but if you buy multiples they get cheaper , for instance 5 for £35 or 10 or above would be £6 each .
  13. His website isn't exactly up to date, but there is a link in the Prescott thread for his FB. I got an email address for him and sent a pic of my car attached asking if hed taken any. he got back to me pretty quick with details of pics. Stuart Wing Captureyourcarphotography@outlook.com
  14. Bought some pics from him as well, thanks to N-Seven for the heads up.Particularly liked this shot:
  15. I sold my GT4 in 2020 through Car and Classic, I was thinking along the same lines as you regarding the amount of scammers etc these days.Shame we have to consider it like that but unfortunately for every genuine person interested theres a ton of idiots out there. I had a few emails etc that I was obviously going to ignore but the guy from Manchester who bought it luckily turned out to be fine.I was lucky really,Covid restrictions hadn't been as stringent at that point but he didnt want to test drive with me and i didnt with him,he sent me a deposit just through the many detailed pics of every aspect of the car and paperwork present, and when he turned up he trusted me in turn, sent the rest via bank transfer on his phone and he didnt get to drive it away until I saw the balance land in my account .So we were both lucky,he was a genuine buyer and I was an honest seller with a very good car. Mathewsons do sell later cars and i think if you want to avoid all the face to face and potential pitfalls,it should be worth considering.Especially being a GT well looked after and low miles, they'll sell it for you, just agree what you're prepared to let it go for.I dont know the costs regarding the extras, but to have someone trustworthy collect from your house and do the work for you,has to be a consideration for the price of a phone call.
  16. They look very similar to ST162 mouldings, unfortunately just as hard to source. And I bet the doors on the Supra are longer than the Celica's.
  17. Yeah all depends on the Gen really,10 spokes on a preface Gen4 are a wheel that suit the car well, agree the 6 spoke facelift ST205 wheels look good, and the Tech 5 wheels are good on a 7th Gen,providing you don't buckle them driving over a pebble . And the OEM wheels on the MA61 Celica Supra still look great nowadays
