  1. Theyll probably go up in value the three spokes because as you rightly say theyre light and a lot of them have been mullered on track cars over the years so a good straight set are worth keeping hold of I reckon
  2. Im off to Halfords then out to get me some new rims from somewhere
  3. Buy it and ill nick the S54 off it thankyouverymuch
  4. no need to move it mate.what a soundtrack!
  5. I have the 'BR' series from BC.I had a chat with Steve at GT4play about the spring rates and such,I went for the lower end (typically i cant remember the exact spec) of rating, with 30 clicks of adjustment ; you can go from a firm but pliable ride to a rock hard setting in seconds.Got a really good price going through him.http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/br-series-coilovers Think i went for the 6kg spring for the front and 4 at the rear actually. You can specify right up to about 12k though but that is unnecessary for a road car IMO .
  6. I think the BCs on softer setting would be liveable on a daily basis mate plus like said you wont have to drop the car right down either.the BCs BR series have 30 clicks of adjustment.Steve at GT4Play sorted mine and he'll be able to advise on the spring rates available for what you need too
  7. ..and like Steve pointed out, where do you go for good club advice...here of course.Even Pistonheads know this here's the imported gen4,not the one you guys would be used to seeing.....its the one with the booty back end,and the slightly asthmatic engine.Remember this being up for sale,we dont miss a lot us gen4 types http://www.pistonheads.com/regulars/ph-features-sheds/shed-of-the-week-toyota-celica-st/28341 and a nice gen5 http://www.pistonheads.com/regulars/ph-features-sheds/shed-of-the-week-toyota-celica/30987
  8. Nah,go for that shopping wagon I posted up,fit some coilovers and decent brakes and surprise the boy racers at the lights
  9. Whack it in this http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C578039 Proper sleeper, and looks mint
  10. What a good idea Could use another Beams Gen4 in the club... Heres a good looking car http://www.ebay.com/itm/221672534155 and what it could look like in there Would recommend using the Beams clocks, save a LOT of wiring hassle (ask Bek) If not I reckon a sleeper Corolla would be a good bet and not too much hassle
  11. Its possible like Paul says its not picking up fuel,if you can get it level or just stick a few quids worth in out of a can then you can rule it out if it still wont fire up...you've got to fill it up anyway you should try and avoid running it that low on fuel anyway mate if you can
  12. Or do the right thing and spend the money on your Celica which you've done
  13. If I was looking at a Lexus it would have to be the Altezza with the Beams engine like said, around 210bhp compared to the UK IS200
  14. Hope you'll be popping into the gen4 broom cupboard for a chat and a brew as well as the 7 section After all you are still the Guru ..
  15. Very nice, great plate too.The interior has been done well to look a bit 'factory',but not really my taste
  16. If you give TCB a call, theyll tell you what gaskets you need for the job mate.Make sure you use plenty of wd40 or something on the nuts well before you attempt to undo them.;the ones that that bolt to the threads on the manifold are a tight bugger, half the time the studs wind out with the nuts in situ. You can carefully us a small blowtorch, type you find in homebase,to heat the nuts up though to make them easier to get off.
  17. More on my gen4 section thread.Coming along, will see if it works hopefully by weekend
  18. 2 metres of two ply air ducting for cold feed
  19. If they are its usually stamped on there somewhere
  20. Working in a Distribution warehouse for Waitrose,,after over 10 years in the paper industry.Always been into cars,Fords as a youth mostly,Alfa Romeo bit later on,was looking for a project car in a budget but a bit old skool when the Celica cropped up.Always liked the 4th/5th gen type cars,(rallying viewing from the 80s/90s),old mans friend had owned one back in the day as a new car,so was an ideal situation for me.Lots of car for the money and looks good .. oh yeah im 43.
  21. Hopefully it should be ok mate, will have two cold feeds from either side with 57mm diameter each going into the box, hopefully it can suck on that and be happy
  22. Thats an option if i think i know what you're getting at,though i think i can avoid the water issue with what ive got in mind,i just need to make sure ive got enough air feed into the box,if i can be sure.Only way to find out is to try i suppose, taking what Coops has said if the car runs sweet enough after the mods to the box, then ill get the exhaust downpipe replaced with a custom one when ive got the money and run it back down to Surrey RR and see what the AFR is compared to before. If it decides to run rubbish for any reason then i can reasonably easily go back to how it was and then rethink.
  23. Okey dokey, so bearing in mind everything from the throttle body to the airbox remains factory, the maximum aperture that the engine can take in air is the 65mm inlet at the entry to the airbox, throttle body pipe end. So the key is the volume of air that is available inside that airbox , which has to be constant and enough to supply the throttle body with enough air .I can supply the box with air from two feeds both with internal diameters into the box of 57mm each; the standard 'hole' in the box only has an area slightly less than the diameter of the throttle body inlet, so I am looking along the lines of two 57mm feeds supplying more than enough air for the engine to breathe in, compared to the original.I hope that makes sense, my low grade O level in maths has its limits lol (Google is my friend).Toyota obviously know exactly what they were doing which is why im not touching anything to do with the rest of the kit, just ensuring there's enough (cool) air inside the box for the engine to take as it goes through to peak revs.Does that make sense
