  4. not a celica but one of the cars we do at work is a ferrari 328 on an 'e' reg (1987) and when i serviced it a couple of weeks ago it had done 1875 miles!!! ( yes, one thousand eight hundred and seventy five!!) every nut and bolt and basically everything was like brand new which is very rare on most ferraris that age as they are normally rusty as fook!!
  5. Happy Anniversary Celica73!

  6. t sports dont have a sunroof/moonroof either.
  7. lol, i worked at one of the mentioned subaru specialists in the article and the old "imprezas only run for 60k before a rebuild" is a myth!!!! our demo car was running about 430bhp on the original 80,000 mile engine with no problems at all and i know of another tuner who runs a 500bhp sti still on it's original engine which he uses daily all over the country which had done 90,000. the problem with the impreza engine is that unlike an evo or other performance cars it is quite a finely tuned engine and doesn't like being messed about with unless you know what you are doing. some people upgraded stuff like exhausts and filters etc without getting it checked for being happy like afr, det, correct boost etc etc which then can cause problems with engines going bang and other problems. other problems were down to poor maintenance like having no oil in the engine or long periods without changing it. before we put a customers car on our dyno i always checked the oil level just to make sure and most were ok but we did have the odd one that hardly had any oil in it at all, so it's not the engine thats the problem it's the owner!! i think the impreza in it's early years got a good reputation for being reliable and then when people started tuning them they thought they could thrash them everyday and they would be ok, but it's like anything mechanical in that thrash it everyday and eventually it will let go no matter what. dont get me wrong, i'm not saying that the impreza is any better or more reliable than a gt4, i'm just saying from working on subarus for over 6 years they aren't any worse than any other performance car if they are looked after.
  8. i agree, i'm just not sure why gen 6 people just dont seem to like the gen 7?? they're all Toyota Celicas at the end of the day. yeah we all like a laugh at how a gen 6 looks like a frog or a gen 7 has a hairdrier as standard in tthe boot but when people are slagging cars off they haven't driven or even sat in, well thats just crap. it's like going on the internet to find out if you have a certain illness, you will always be able to make you think you're gonna die or be seriously ill and it's the same with cars, you will always be able to find that ANY car will have faults no matter how reliable it is supposed to be.
  9. I don't get any of those issues, yes the brakes aren't brilliant as standard but upgrade them and they are fine. As said before cars are mechanical/electrical so whatever it is it will eventually go wrong unless you replace every bit of it.
  10. Change your cabin/pollen filter, its probably blocked therefore not letting fresh air to circulate in the interior.
  11. is the job just for mot testing?? if so then you wont need any tools to just do mot's. Also have you any motor trade qualifications?? as i'm pretty sure you will need some to take the nominated tester course with vosa. Also from one of the posts above, i wouldn't buy anything from scoobyworld as i've just been made redundant from there so i dont reckon they'll be going for much longer so you wont have much of a warranty if they aren't.
  12. This would be good to know as I need to order some for the missus's car.
  13. i've fitted hundreds of sets of bc's to imprezas at my old work and also some to toyota glanzas, honda integra and a set to a honda 2000 and cant fault them. the fit is always spot on and they ride really well. the only thing stopping me having any on my gen 7 is that i haven't got the money for them at the moment.
  14. well assuming that mine had the 190 it's meant to when it was new (it wouldn't have though would it!!) ,when i put mine on our dyno at work last year it had 182, so that 1 bhp per year as it's a 52 plate.
  15. Very very nice mate, my cars 10th will be next year.
  16. i was part of the mcrae gathering in august 2008 in which we made the largest car mosaic at prodrive, we had 1086 subarus which spelt out 'colin mcrae' and also the scottish flag, my impreza was in the white cross of the flag...
  17. around 150ish for me just going to and from work mainly
  18. No, its a dry filter so no need for oil.
  19. my old classic impreza wagon......... and my gen7 T sport that i drive now which replaced the impreza.......
  20. gen 7 gt ftw! not saying i dont like the gt4 but it's just too old a car for me!
