  1. ah , is that why your late on the throttle , i note your not giving it death on the way out but waiting until you have exited before giving it death , you can easily see its sliding around , also explains how the other 2 got past as it seemed from the outset you were going to slaughter all comers , would have been nice to be in the stand watching this even and dam thats a chattery turbo , i thought mine was noisey
  2. i did wonder about that also but didnt want to mention it ( could have been a 1.3 and your me gran )
  3. nice what was with the datsun 260 ? what lumps that running ?
  4. ugly with a capital ug ,,,, splitter hanging off the front pretending to be a touring car with couple of alloy rods ,,, okayyyyy , random bits of plastic lashed on the front bumper to create downforce ,,,, cough ...wanker ,,,, you can imagine the chatter the front end was enduring without bits of scrap randomly lashed to the front end , the preload must be amazing thanks to this innovative and worthwhile modification spoiler screaming ``please burn me , pleaseeeee`` sorry , its a shiney barry motor , well screwed together fair enough but then silver flares back in the 70`s were also well stitched , didnt mean you wouldnt look a nob , sorry , do not like
  5. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH im only 3rd picture in im looking at a toyota space cruiser , they list it as ``This amazing 1983 model is known simply as the Toyota Van. When you have a vehicle this stylish there’s no need to bother with having an actual model name. ``, no it wasnt ,,,, doh ! tarago in some countrys , space cruiser in others , van as the prototype only and then im not so sure it wasnt the masterace known as a model f,,,, and thats an 84 model space cruiser , i can tell by the wheels so not a prototype or pre production
  6. sounds a shitty earth but could be a host of stuff such as a wire braking down or relay not carrying voltage , you can start the car cant you ? the batterys upto turning it over ? id choose something and add another earth so see what happens pop off an interior light and bodge another wire in from the battery earth to see what happens
  7. ill fess , im predatory , once that temp gadge moves toward the middle is simply a case of me giving it a slap of throttle in between bits im forced to take it steady ,i aim to overtake everything and do my best to , if a cars not doing 10 over the speed limit i want to get past as hes slowing me down ( not as if i have anywhere to go ) , i take corners at much faster than i should speed , i at times aim to see just at what point it can loose grip and get interesting , i dont pose at all , i just want the world to get out the feckin way , if someone appreciates the car then fine and good for them but the reality is its about pace and its potential , i want to get home with a buzz on , smoking brakes and warm tyres , im not proud of myself , oddly in the van its almost a sea of tranquility , its not often over 60 although i will say it spins up easy
  8. no probs , if you need me just say the word , the mrs twists my arm and wallet for a harvester meal at least once a week so we always end up at the place near opp the uni
  9. milage has nowt to do with anything , as stuff wears out replace with nicer better stuff and your half way there anyway so yeah go for it , make it special
  10. im south of coalville but happy to help , plus im off to rising sun so could take them with me if needed
  11. yep but as hes asking for a solar set-up the car must be outdoors and not in a garage , thats what i deduce watson
  12. i asked previously and got back that they are crap , i think id still buy one although id be more inclined to buy a simple panel and stick a crocodile clip on the end , amporphous are the type of panel you need http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sunshine-Solar-Panel-Amorphous-40-Watt-12-Volt-/350444118071?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item519818e037 like this 1 but not so big they work regardless of it raining or being over cast these buggers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sunshine-Solar-Panel-Amorphous-4-Watt-12-Volt-/260639262121?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item3caf4f85a9 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sunshine-Solar-Panel-Amorphous-5-Watt-12-Volt-/260639262939?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item3caf4f88db
  13. even better is when the lads assume its 200 bhp so the power sapping ebay 20 quid air cleaner and generic backbox must be bringing it upto 240 , i always like them , i also like to infom with `` sorry mucka its 170 if your lucky`` and they come back with `` had it off my mate an he did loads of work on it so its 240 init cus its had work an a chip `` as for 7`s ? havnt a clue , is there really that much ? i notice people get mildly excited when m is mentioned but beyond that its ? do the specs make much difference i wonder or is it all cosmetic
  14. normaily 800-1000 so way off unless hes fitting it for that sort of cash , the ecu needs a loom making , the rad is different , the exahust oh fook it its all different so needs really to be using all beams including shafts and everything so ? id not pay it
  15. lots of miles soooooo worth having a sniff at as the year and the mileage might mean a beams engine beastie ? beams were fitted from 97 onwards and the high miles could be due to a milage conversion when its imported , could be 88 thou ? with a beams its worth the 3 grand so worth making that call and asking the colour of the top of the engine
  16. someones posted up a couple of times about a company referbing calipers , anyone got a clue plus an approx price expected to pay got a sticker needs sorting
  17. supose id better mention truck wash ,,,,, thin it down and leave for an hour then wash off with washing up liquid and water , it is an acid mind so do be extra carefull
  18. washing powder ( as in daz ) mixed with a little water to make a paste , then using a brush watch the crap disappear diesel in a tub with a paint brush , batter the crap with it then wash down with washing up liquid in water once everything is nice and clean spray with a cheap silver paint ( pound shop ) and give a slap of laquar then turn up at shows and open your bonnet with pride
  19. Superstut upto £1000 ,,,,,, every 80 thou so get already sorted , its easy enough plus when things to wear out you may just replace say a crush tube and not have to touch it for another couple of yrs Turbo keep £500 on standby ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, goes at approx 160 ,,,,,, or if the cars not been looked after sooner ( oil changes ) or abused ( modified then thrashed ) Head another £500 on standby ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, head gasket at around the 160-200 thousand , cant really concider it a fault Rear diff, clutch gearbox, it all starts to get a little scary! ,,,,,,,,, the diff mount can go ,,,sometime ,,,,,,,,,, the clutch at around 60-80 so no different from a normal car unless some dipshit has been lauching under boost at which point it may not last the day , same as any normal car also ,,,,,,,, gearbox well most cars suffer sooner or later as would any celica made ( 3rd`s crap ) now they really dont like fuel , the ability to go slow just isnt going to happen as boost is fun , figure 20 mpg with the odd 30 until you once again realise its fun so back to 20
  20. my 5`s were good in the snow , dean also reported no issues at all could be a tyre and suspension issue ?
  21. if it starts ill use it including running a winter in a vert ... snow and the roof down isnt as bad as it sounds prep is 2 snow footprints in the boot , theses are 2 3 foot long bits of plastic you slot under the wheels to get grip if your in the shit , i also drop tyre pressures down to 20 , everything else is listed under starting tyres are whatevers fitted , the wider the better , my brilliance of driving knows no boundries or in reaity i aim pint , cross fingers and hope for the best , im no stranger to going out to play with the handbrake
  22. you peel back the headlineing so you can get to the underside of the roof , you use 2 inch vynal tape and cover any holes , problem is the tape doesnt stick easily and tends to drop off so you then sow the tape to the roof making a perminant and invisible repair , the tapes water proof so no water will now get in i got my roof from america , the roof on the cars not bad at all except someone has made 2 repairs which given the paints mint detracts from the over all , i paid around the 150 quid which was luck of the draw , got it from ebay , takes a bt of finding but there normaily around the 180 mark ( for the 5 ) and 250-450 in the uk so worth the trouble my cars are all toyotas glanza V hiace super custom ( yes really , daft name ) gen 5 st185 gt4 with a friggin big turbo lashed nto the end of it gen 5 convertible thing ...... its a vert but with full gt4 running gear and engine , sometimes it even works
  23. then you remove the headlining , apply a bt of tape alone the bit its leaking , then using a leather needle and black thread sow the tape in so its going nowhere , no more leaks and no difference to the roof looks me i brought another roof from america i did think should i get a few made up and flog them out as for the hooked covers , they flop about massively , we used a rope to hold it down to stop it ripping in the end
