  1. good video - explains it better than I thought - looks like a loose connection somewhere to me - are there any pending codes?
  2. Can you upload it to YouTube and post a link
  3. if you can bring it over one sat morning - only thing is if it doesnt do it when its warm im not going to see it
  4. Any chance of getting someone to film it. It sounds like its when you are coming off the accelerator it starts to kangaroo?
  5. yes and after you try that, try another test where you give it a bit more gas as you let the clutch out (almost as if you are riding the clutch)
  6. perhaps the juddering is causing it to stall , its a hard one to diagnose without seeing it Try this when its cold, change gear as you normally would but leave it in neutral for a few seconds before going into gear and see if it happens in those few seconds or if its only when you then go into gear The OEM clutch is fine for an unboosted car as long as you dont ride it
  7. From my experience it will be the clutch rather than the mounts, once warmed up they are a bit better What make was the clutch and how many miles have you done since - they do take a while for them to bed in - I dont fit the competition clucthes anymore as most people dont really like them after they are fitted. Why did you fit a competition clutch?
  8. is it clutch judder - if so could be oil on the plate , worn mounts or worn clutch
  9. what do you mean by hard shift? Is it like the car is stalling?
  10. Have you done anything to the car since the problem started?
  11. You don't have a strut brace that is shorting against the battery?
  12. Is it the original key? is the battery loose?
  13. 1zz one is short - thats the one you have - denso is OEM (nothing wrong with NGK normally)
  14. its the inner back plate that will be gone New ones are silly money (£250 a side last time I checked) I have some used ones - drop me a PM if you need them
  15. they might not have seen it until it was removed what part is it - and how much was it?
  16. if it aint broke dont fix it engines that have had regular oil changes are generally good inside. If you want to do something extra, drop the sump and clean it out and clean the gauze
  17. pile the up on top of each other? surely wont save that much space with that stand
  18. at the end of the day at 10- 16 years old - if its not been looked after then it could be a shed - and a lot of what you mentioned comes down to maintenance had mine for 12 years and put 244,000 miles on top of the 20,000 it had and its never let me down - I actually think if it did then Id be able to buy a new car but its hard to let go of something that is so reliable hopefully we can help but at least some of the niggles right easily also the comments about buying an earlier gen celica are usually from people who have never owned a 7
  19. ok lets see if we can help 1. Noisy inside Check your inners edge of your rear tyres - these can be worn unevenly and make it very noisy - you need to get your head under there to see it - you wont see it from the side - post a pic if you are not sure 2. Not as comfy Unfortunately comparing a saloon to a coupe - is it lowered though - changing back to normal springs might help 3. Build quality - materials crap Cant help here but its built to be light weight 4. Engine - Vtec rules - no issues at all what engine issues are you having? 5.Lots issues a] not working passenger window switch There is an isolator switch to the right of the igintion on the dash - 99% of the time this is the cause b] tailgate struts - New ones from kent gas springs are £34 - this is wear and tear im afraid c] alternator belt Again wear and tear - they dont last forever not even on hondas d] Clutch - lots issues !!! - What issues? e] Poor driver position - can't find comfy Have you tried lowering/raising the base using the dial? f] Heating on driver side not working properly -Needs bleeding properly g] cd changer location in boot - You can move it but most cars from factory have it here h] can't be ask to list it all - means many more - We can try and help
  20. The problem you have is if you go somewhere and mention that it failed elsewhere because of the exhaust - they probably wont want to pass it as it shows the failure on the history. So you might be taking your chances again.
  21. I suspect its because you were not at the test center when it was tested (ie the tester didnt know if the car was a dvla plant)
  22. Is it noisy at a steady 3000rpm with the bung in. Also with the bung in - is it possible to put a pipe in to check the emissions still? As for being a jobsworth - I dont think thats a fair comment - at the end of the day the tester doesn't know you and doesn't owe you any favours - why would he put his license and livelihood at risk for a stranger?
  23. the bonnet and tailgate - leave out side your driveway for a few days and see if the scrap man takes it bumper just take as is to local tip - no need to chop it up I left a dishwasher out and it was gone in 20 minutes, then put a cooker hob and someone else took that 15 minutes later
  24. Different regs on a minibus - as you have to check all the seats as well as the belts if you remove the seats and the belts from the rear on a car it will pass
  25. can you post a pic of the wheel with the cap off and one nut off as well
