  1. Happy 12 Anniversary Bill T!

  2. I must admit I forgot to pack any
  3. I hadn't noticed that initial business. The 5 is in a bit of a state, but probably better than mine which is now almost certainly cube shaped
  4. You are all forever in my thoughts and very much so today, I think a bit of input from the detailers might be of use Both parked up in Mykonos town this afternoon
  5. Happy 11 Anniversary Bill T!

  6. I sold my 7 for a 5. The 5 is the better car but age does weary them and the years do condemn
  7. No pics for a month, this thread is dead in the water on the current challenge. So first to post a new one get the go ahead.
  8. Happy Anniversary Bill T!

  9. Do it! I went from Gen 7 to 5 about 6 years ago for exactly that reason, with my total lack of technical expertise it was now or never. So glad I did because I dont see them making Gen 5's again any time soon.
  10. I had a bit of trouble with Mr T a couple of years ago, "Celica ST 182 ..... Gen 5... ...... no?... " Pointed to the enormous pic in the show room, "Looks very similar to that"
  11. NO!!! Read the thread and all will be revealed to you
  12. Which means that no MOT is valid at the point your car would fail and therefore the 12 month thing goes out of the window. It's two seperate issues, one is road worthiness and one is conforming to the requirements ofcthe MOT testing regime. I entirely agree that it's a nonsense, but a certificate is valid for 12 months.... end of.
  13. The problem with that argument is that it would negate the whole system, as an MOT is only valid as a true cerificate of road worthiness at the point the tester signs it off. What if you have for racing slicks 10 months in? Your offence is driving with defective tyres, not driving without valid MOT. The issue here is not road worthiness but whether or not you hold a valid MOT certificate. So actually only me and my accolites are correct
  14. Just applied a bit of logic, the current system derives from holding a valid certificate, once you hold one thats it till it expires because you can produce a valid certificate.
  15. Your MOT is valid until it expires
  16. Hello Bubba, long time no post, good to see you're still with us
  17. I think 152 miles doesn't come close to any type of objective test. I get drastically different MPG on the same fuel on the same day, weather, traffic frame of mind, etc etc all have an effect.
  18. Happy Anniversary Bill T!

  19. On my old 318 if I coasted down hill in neutral the fuel consumption indicator went up, in gear with no or little throttle it dropped like a stone. I put it down to gravity turning over the engine rather than my petrol
  20. Ah! The old talking cack trick. So it is 112mph
