  1. Three weeks is a long time to remember when you're buying everything for a Gen 7 under the sun.. https://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/191106-gen-7-trd-shortshifter-fuel-cap/&tab=comments#comment-2394294
  2. No, that's the OE size. Had they been 40 profile, that would contribute to the lack of clearance. It was worth asking.
  3. What size tyres are fitted?, 40, or 45 profile?. I can see they're crappy Nexen N'Fera SU1, but can't quite make out the size.
  4. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/105620/uk-catalytic-converter-thefts-up-tenfold-in-2019?_mout=1&utm_campaign=autoexpress_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter
  5. Out of interest, what made you choose this charger?. From what I'm able to find, the Lidl "Ultimate Speed" version is almost half the price, is able to charge a battery quicker at 3.8A as opposed to 1.5A, and has a three year guarantee, compared to the 12 months of the AA version.
  6. Good ventilation in the garage is critical (I leave a small garage window part open). Otherwise, storage can be far worse then leaving the car outside. As well as leaving it off, work the handbrake a few times when you can. Also, unless you plan to start the engine from time to time, store the battery inside the house, and connect to a charger monthly. The TR battery is in my bedroom. The AGM battery in the Porsche has been left connected to a "smart" charger under the bonnet, as there would be a million and one settings to input in the spring otherwise.
  7. Asking for tyre recommendations, is like asking which is the best Bond film..everyone will have a different opinion. However, given your location, plus the fact I don't think you're going to be covering a high mileage, I would suggest you consider the Rainsport 3. https://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s457p111646/Uniroyal_Tyres_Car_Uniroyal_RainSport3_Uniroyal_Rain_Sport_3_-_205_45_R17_88Y_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_C_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_72dB
  8. I get this on the TR which lives in a double garage. I have to raise the rear end on wooden blocks, run the car in gear, and then stamp on the brake pedal to free the clutch plate.
  9. Yes, especially if you go one size up profile wise, and opt for the very common 205/55/16, rather than the OE 205/50/16.

  11. Just a quick "heads-up"..Lidl's brilliant little smart battery charger will be in store as of today.. https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/car-essentials/ultimate-speed-car-battery-charger/p25475
  12. I was quoted £60 (no VAT) per Tech5 in 2017, but bought a set of Bola B1 rims instead. That price included a change of colour to Gunmetal, masking the decorative studs, and a lacquered finish. https://www.facebook.com/neilspristinewheels2012/
  13. I'm happy with Lidl's Powerfix version. Use the replacement filter to get a loose fit, then tighten onto the old one. Of course, if you can wait until they're in-store, you'll save on the postage if ordering from eBay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPtzS7qr6Os
  14. Yoda says.."hope there is for you", young padawan.
  15. Is your 021 battery a 005 (for a pre face lift), or a 053 (much smaller than a 005 for a face lift)?.
  16. Yes, but that patent has long expired, Belinda
  17. Your new user-name is..Belinda https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmZYE8j2ZNs
  18. Young padawan..you are forgiven I actually think it's worth 10 hundred.
  19. With one exception, all the rims fitted to the Gen 7 in the UK (16" or 17") were manufactured by Fondmetal, and need collared nuts. The rims you've just shown, ARE that exception. They were made by Team Dynamics, fitted to some pre face lift cars as an extra cost option, and I think, take tapered nuts. Hopefully, someone will confirm. Apologies for not checking the first pics. more carefully, but you don't see many of these rims around these days, with it being nearly 17 years since they were offered, and the high level of corrosion these diamond cut rims suffered from. Which is probably why they were discontinued. As Old Red says, the Centre Bore needs to be 54.1, and that's easily measured.
  20. You MUST use the collared nuts on the left. The tapered nuts on the right are unsafe to use on Toyota rims!. Please change them before you use the car again.
  21. IMHO, both cars are on the high side price wise. I'd be catching the ferry over to Liverpool, to have a look at a "Premium Blue". Makes the spec. of the Lagoon 140 look very low rent, and with the electric sunroof, has a higher spec. than the Chilli T Sport. Save yourself around a grand in the meantime. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-54-Reg-Toyota-Celica-1-8-VVT-i-Premium-Celica-Blue/382488744126?hash=item590e1b10be:g:tL4AAOSw4aZbH8mQ:rk:2:pf:0
  22. If I see any Ultimate Speed screen-wash in LIDL, I'll post on this thread. Meanwhile..this test may be of interest to some.. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/65265/best-car-screen-wash-to-buy
  23. According to some on HUKD, the Prestone smells of fish!
  24. I bought 4l of Prestone -10C for £2.50 from Tesco recently, but they also offer 2l bottles of "Extreme Performance", supposedly good for down to -23C for £3.50. https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/287525988
