  1. I've got a couple of Karcher ones which do the job nicely.
  2. given the RA28 a quick going over earlier in the wek - decided to sort out the staring issue. had my trusty mechanic on the case which ended up needing a new starter solenoid. Manage to track a potential replacement (second hand one) between us and it's on and starting. Got to love 40yr old cars and trying to find parts! Still - at least I'm able to get over to Pendle PowerFest on sunday if anyone in the Greater Manchester area fancies a family friendly car show!
  3. Toyota 'Sharkfin' aerial for my GT86 - not a cheap option and still need to get it colour coded to match my shade of silver as they changed it on MY15's!
  4. Happy 14 Anniversary BenMMellor!

  5. The only issue I have from that list is the squealing brakes - this is down to the harder compound used on the pads. Toyota will replace them with softer compound pads if you want under warranty. Mine's a 14 plate one - purchased with 9k miles and still a great car to drive IMHO. the gears are a little notchy until warmed up but not to the point where you can't select gears. I suspect that was a bit of a lemon.
  6. I've used them before to re-furb allloys both on my Celica and when I had the IS200. I also got them to powder coat bits for me such as strut braces, battery and radiator clamps. I'll be getting them to do some spare strut bars for my GT86 soon. Helps as they are walking distance from my house lol.
  7. I can recommned Wheel Repair Centre - just of Jct 29 of the M6 in Bamber Bridge.
  8. when (and if) i have the spare money - it's a supercharger upgrade for mine!
  9. Just stuck an Hks Super Hybrid panel filter in mine - made a little bit of difference! Apparently this has shown a 6bhp increase in independent tests.
  10. I've also made the jump from a GT to a GT86 (well Gen6 GT) and I don't regret it. There was the initial 'oh shit' moment when trying to get the kids in the back (7yr old and 4yr old) but we cope. For longer journeys where we need the comfort we have the Auris. Yes it needs a little fettlign to get more out of the engine - but look at the complete package! This was planned as a car that enthusiasts could tweak, abd purists could keep as is. Both could have fund driving it. Would I change back - in a word no. I modified a lot on my Gen6 but not really getting anything back from 12yrs of owning the same car. The Gen6 was a nice car to drive, but the GT86 just feels so much 'tighter'. Go for a few test drives - a few quick easy mods are noted on the GT86 OC. I paid £21k for mine on a late '14 plate but have the comfort of just over 4yrs warranty left should I have any issues. I may start some smaller cheap mods this summer then look at more expensive options in the future once I've paid a bit more off. NB I will keep all the parts I take off this time to replace when I end up selling in about another 10yrs time or I upgrade again in a few years.
  11. did you get one from TCB - I've done both outers and had no issues with kits they supplied?
  12. To be fair my Gen6 has been pretty much reliable and I just hope the GT86 will be as good as it. I've had the usual running costs of maintnenance and like you I've replaced CV joints (mainly due to cracked abducter rings for the ABS) but it's been a good 15yrs of pretty much faultless driving! All the things I've had to do apart from servicing have been general wear and tear replacements.
  13. Happy 13 Anniversary BenMMellor!

  14. Probably going to do mod mine do might drop into your price range.
  15. Mine's for sale but sadly not as low as that... Happy to discuss/consider a reasonable offer I do need to sell it as I need to clear the space on my driveway and pay a chunk off the GT86 - I will probably regret selling this Gen6 but needs must. 1999 UK GT with 91k genuine miles on it - owned by me for the last 13yrs or so plenty of history. http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/classifieds/item/1313-1999-st202-91k-genuine-miles-l2850-ovno-preston/ Just been serviced and had 2 new tyres on it - MOT due soon (June) so will be putting a fresh 12 months on it pretty soon. Does need some touching up on the bodywork. Mods list includes, 17" OZ 'Record' Alloys, Lowered springs, GT4 rear brace, HKS exhaust, Blitz SUS Filter, Projectors with HIDS, Gen7 seats (full leather) & matching door cards & SSIII splitters - so there's over £1k worth of upgrade parts alone if I decided to go down the breaking route. Also includes private plate - T20CEL
  16. I've had a set on my O.Z.'s for years and had no issues.
  17. Possible abs Sensor or the ring on the joint might have a crack. Pull the code using the old port to check which wheel is playing up
  18. set of 6 t-shirts from Mook's latest ebay deal on his t-shirts and a new Pro-Mech paddock chair ready for being comfy @ Retro Rides!
  19. Catch can for the RA28 - just got to find a suitable mounting point,
  20. Happy Anniversary BenMMellor!

  21. mine have been on a for a week and braking feels a lot sharper - could also be due to all the calipers being cleaned up on the service.
