  1. Iv had advisories before for "noisy exhaust" but it's down to discretion of the tester if he thinks it's excessively loud. I think it's more common sense then anything, why people try and make the car as loud as possible is beyond me! Granted mines not exactly quiet but I can't really get it any quieter without sacrificing power! There's a lad on my street with a 1.6 focus and his exhaust is a lot louder than mine but then again the 80 bhp or whatever it's got needs to breathe
  2. Prices from when I broke mine: Flare £10 Front seats - free Hyper sports mats £30 Boot carpet - free (gt4 carpet has the wheel "hump" in it Not sure on rest as mine never had them HTH
  3. Engines do lose power over time but a well maintained one shouldn't lose too much. Only way for sure is to take th engine out and put it on a crank dyno, a rolling road fly wheel figure doesn't really tell the whole story as all dynos vary massively.
  4. It's not far off stock iirc, plus if the other car has a race driver at the wheel that more than makes up for the few tweeks IMHO
  5. ^^ That's a better comparison If I had to chose between the two then I'd go for the celica purely because I don't like the looks of the 86, don't really like the looks of the gen 7 either but prefer it over the gt86 lol
  6. Indeed but works even better in this weather with a water spray bar
  7. Sumps, brakes and track are the same. Later jap had airbags. JDM has climate control, elec folding mirrors, no rear fog and reads in km/h (limited to 112mph) Uk has headlight washers and bonnet spoiler and oblong rear plate surround. Uk has egr but power difference is down to ecu and fuel. Jdms tend to be slightly more expensive to insure for some reason considering they are 99% identical to uk cars.
  8. What are the differences engine wise then? Afaik the only difference is the ecu and that's only down to the difference in fuel as already mentioned. You also said earlier that things like brakes are different between uk and JDM cars, again which parts are actually different?
  9. Don't think my car does much more than that a year
  10. Green 205's were only made in 1996 AFAIK, it is a stunning colour though
  11. Is it gt4 specific or an mr2 ecu? I sold an mr2 one with hand controller and boost solenoid a few years ago for £650. If it is gt4 specific than it's worth a bit more. If it is just the ecu with no controller than it's probably worth a couple of hundred less IMHO
  12. I have to do a 30 mile round trip to get V-Power, don't have much choice either as its mapped to it
  13. They look a little bit like Impreza 4 pots but not identical
  14. Happy 7 Anniversary paulgtt!

  15. Sounds like it has fuel but due to how its parked it maybe away from the pick-up. Is it possible to get the car onto level ground and then try starting it?
  16. Yeah you could but taking an engine from a 4wd to use in fwd seems a bit backwards to me tbh. I can understand why people do it and fair play but I would sooner start with the gt4 and build on that.
  17. A piggyback ecu or full standalone can be used but gains are very small. Nitrous would probably be your easiest and quickest way to more power, as long as its setup properely.
  18. Not much you can do to be fair, exhaust and filter and thats about it without spending mega money. Engine swap for a 3sgte is possible but may aswell just buy a GT4 if going that route imho
  19. I put a small bag of rice on the dash, seems to take most of the moisture out
  20. Im currently looking at this stuff on ebay for brake ducts, its had some good reviews so il chance it! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190885412270?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&var=490175561672&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The ali ducting you can get from places like Wickes/Homebase is also good stuff but I think its only available in 4" diameter
  21. Bit blurry but here's mine, Sparco wheel (300mm I think) with Lifeline motorsport snap off boss. Horn button is mounted on the side of the steering coloumn.
