  1. Iv got a storm force for the civic, not cheap but fits well. Just don’t let cats on it, the little ***** have clawed holes in it and iv had to temporarily repair it with tape....not happy!
  2. To give an idea of what can be lost/changed, this is what Iv done: Aircon Power steering ABS Half sized rad Engine mounts Stainless exhaust and manifolds Induction setup Flyby wire throttle conversion Light weight alloys Coilovers Carbon bonnet Carbon spoiler Seats and belts - swapped for buckets and harnesses Interior plastics Speakers and stereo Spare wheel and tool kit Sound proofing floors and behind dash Sunvisors Headliner Rear wiper 3rd brake light Electric sunroof - swapped to ali plate Electric mirrors - swapped to manual Excess wiring Removable steering wheel Admittedly mine is a weekend/track car, there is still more to lose like the glass windows, doors, tailgate etc I might go the ITB route yet so can lose the inlet mani, induction setup aswell. Just depends how far you want to go, the more you lose the less comfortable it gets!
  3. It’s not just mpg that improves with weight reduction, acceleration, braking, cornering, tyre wear all improve lugging less weight around. But don’t forget you will alter the balance of the car if you remove all the weight from just the rear. Probably the best thing to make lighter without turning it into a track car is lighter wheels as already mentioned.
  4. My first 205, had this for 5 1/2 years and also had a green 205 for a while along with this silver one
  5. Iv got a few plans: Sunroof delete Roll cage Lexan windows Door panels carbon mirrors and boot harnesses Aiming for under 1000kg wet and then maybe try for 300bhp N/A How much will actually happen is another story!
  6. Don’t post that much these days, on the Celica side of things anyway, but 6 years ago I had bought my little green beasty so thought I’d share it as not many of these are/were about. Wonder if it’s still alive?
  7. Same here dubs, although I'm sure 1.39 rings a bell last time I filled up, 150 miles later it needs filling up again lol
  8. No I don't cut the bag just as it is. The best thing to use are the little silica bags you get in shoe boxes etc
  9. I leave a bag of rice on the dash whilst the car is parked up, it doesn't completely stop condensation but it certainly helps.
  10. Agree on the SGS jacks etc very good bits of kits. With regard to the boot struts then the "mod god" has come up with an ingenious solution
  11. One of my old Evo's was measured at 110db at a track, still went through MOT test ok. Its all down to the tester at the end of the day though, what one deems acceptable another may not
  12. Dinitrol. Looks like black paint and dries hard, there's some pics of mine after it was done on the previous page
  13. I was up there Saturday having the alignment checked and Dave said you were all booked in. You'll be in good hands with them, there the only guys I let work on the Evo's Iv had
  14. Agree with the above post. The MX5 handles well and does look fun but on most tracks they get blitzed. We've got a 306 GTi-6 for track use, had it 2 years and not actually got it on track yet but the recipe is there, cheap too!
  15. Some places charge as little as £80 but that's a quick wizz over with an aerosol can! If you've got the facilities, patience and don't mind getting messy then it can be done yourself but £400 is money well spent on it IMHO
  16. I haven't got any pics of the actual process, they did take some whilst doing it but haven't forwarded them to me yet. These are the pics I got yesterday though
  17. Tyres are going on tomorrow so il get some underneath pics whilst it's in the air
  18. MG Autos - 01773 745400 Ask to speak to Dave. Mine was £400, everything off from underneath, cleaned off, dried, cavity wax and underseal. I left it there for a week as it had a cambelt change etc aswell
  19. Iv just had my Evo done by MG Autos in Ripley, excellent work as used them previously. They are an Evo specialist but I'm sure they would accommodate most things
  20. I always did 112 on the GT4, I think that was what the workshop manual stated. There should be something online for the gen7 too I always do the wheel nuts upto this torque and then check them after 30 miles or so
  21. Yeah definitely interesting! It was fast but only on a dry, straight road from 50mph onwards. It made a 2015 Carrera S look silly on the A46 lol
  22. Nissan Micra 1.0 Si Toyota Starlet GT Turbo Toyota MR2 GT Turbo T-bar Toyota Celica GT Four ST205 (310bhp track car) Toyota Celica GT Four ST205 (road car) Since the Celicas I then had the following: Mitsubishi Evo 6 Subaru Impreza STi Type RA V5 Mitsubishi Evo 4 (420bhp) Toyota Glanza V (280bhp) Current: Subaru Impreza STi V3 Engine gone pop so currently off road, thinking about getting an Evo 5 to complete the set lol
  23. Happy 8 Anniversary paulgtt!
