  2. Happy 7 Anniversary stubear!

  3. All pretty interesting stuff. I'll put it on the to buy list
  4. I've been reading up about oil catch cans from various sources and the consensus is that they are 'required' for turbo cars but what about N/A cars? Does they give any sort of benefit and if so what? On a side note where do they actually attach to on the car and does anyone have any pictures of their car with one attached?
  5. I've had my Gen6 for what has just passed 10 years. I bought it when I turned 18 when my Clio decided it didn't want to live anymore and pretty much exploded on the A66. I'll be honest I just can't seem to part with it now. There has been times when it has been locked away in the garage due to me working away but after all that time it still starts first time, every time. I paid £1800 for it back then and its been worth every penny! Even now when I take her out on the weekend I still say to my girlfriend 'God damn, I love that car' when I come home.
  6. I had the clunking on my GT a while back and I found was when the inner pads were catching ever so slightly and would move along with the outer disk and then jump back into place when they stopped catching. To be honest I found this happened more if I was reversing but that was because it was the left hand inner pad which was catching and thus was the one which was being moved ever so slightly and then jumping back. The entire system needs to be setup near perfectly to have them not catch and work correctly (or as well as they possible can). I found the major issue which was making mine catch was that the handbrake cable was slightly stuck and was causing the inner pad to stay locked in place. Once I removed that and cleaned it all up and then rebuilt the entire handbrake (for the 500th time since I've own the car) the clunking stopped.
  7. Happy Anniversary stubear666!

  8. "Thats a very loud car, My husbands a police office so I wouldn't drive it past my house" Which was pretty interesting due to the fact I had no idea where the lady actually lived.
  9. Happy Anniversary stubear666!

  10. I have this exact same issue on my passenger side door. Hopefully you get a decent result for what ever method you try, If so I might be tempted to repair mine as well.
  11. Interesting read. Seems to be very similar to the "40+ bhp super duper wind turbine awesome turbo kits" you see on ebay or even the "magical resistor kits". The majority of people you see on the internet won't actually show how to do anything with these and just offer to sell you the guides which all funny enough have 30 days money back guarantees which are probably worth about as me promising to fly you to the moon in my wheely bin. This is one of the better youtube videos I've found : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LElCLMRrDDA&feature=player_embedded Edit : I can't believe I'm now actually looking into this. It seems as it does nothing more than just push hydrogen into the air intake which obviously with combust without the use of fuel which in turn would cut down the fuel amount needed...Personally I wouldn't like to know how the ECU is going to try and cope with this kind of change.
  12. Their website looks like one of them tragic ebay ads. I'm surprised it doesn't have adverts down the side telling me about a woman who is now making £40000 an hour by filling in online surveys. I know I'm judging a book by its cover and all that but it just looked rather crappy. Atleast they seem honest about what might happen : "Our Success rate is now 90%. The technology works in 90% of all the vehicles we have converted. There will always be a difficult vehicle, please check with our Office, we will need the Registration Number & full vehicle details before we can offer advice."
  13. I did mine on a separate fuse but this is only because the current requirements on USB is pretty small so you can get away with a smaller fuse than on your ciggie lighter.
  14. I'm not sure what the 190 is like to drive as I've got a Gen6 but I can assume they handle like go karts which seems to be the way with all Celicas. Its one thing I miss now that I have a Supra as my primary car. Don't get me wrong the massive amounts of power and the ride quality is 100% better but I miss just been able to throw it around any corner or round about and not having to worry about anything. For me the whole attraction to the celica is its quite a lot smaller than all of the other cars mentioned (Obviously not quite 106 size but its still small) above and thus means you can just throw it around anything. The other attraction is you can rev the t*ts off it and it loves it. My advice would be the same as above, take it out for a proper drive and just have some fun. Don't try to compare it to something its not (A large German power house) just take it out and rev the crap out of it....With in reason and obviously without speeding or endangering others.
  15. I've just emailed them asking about any places in the north-east which are offering this service as Suffolk is a little far to travel. Looks pretty interesting though and I'm loving the nutty professor look the guy has got going on. Anyone heard any reviews, good or bad? Would be interesting if anyone who owns an MOT garage could actually go so they could do a before and after test on the emissions (I'm assuming it would give better emission results if it was successful)
