Craden
Hi all! So its been a long time coming but its mot time! now ive been contacted by my local garage and i was told that i need new front discs and pads and rear shoes. So after picking these up and giving them to the garage to fit ive been called in again this time about my rear brakes. Apparently my rear hub assembly is shot and when the handbrake is pulled it is causing the shoes to grind against the drum. Now ive been told that rather then put the new shoes in i need to replace the 2 rear hubs for each side. Would i be right to assume that i need to look for the rear spindle with lower control arm and wheel bearing rather then trying to pick up each part individually? If so does anyone know how much these would cost and where i might be able to find some? many thanks Craig
G.Lewarne
unless the bearings are gone, I don't see any reason to replace the entire rear hub assembly. It is easy enough to get around the hub to replace the shoes.
Craden
When they went to replace the shoes they said the guard plate and everything was bent out of shape to which when the handbrake is used it's causing the shoes to grind against inside
