CelicaRy
This is a recurring problem, I reset the battery to get rid of the check engine light and it came on again, then when opening the petrol cap a lot of air comes out, I think this is causing the engine light , causes and fixes please? Going to check the error codes tomorrow to see if anything else comes up
Black Knight
As far as I understand a good fizz of air when releasing the filler cap is a GOOD thing. Indicates a sound leak free system that is pressurising well under driving
Old Red Celica
All my Tyotas have a little bit of wind when removing the filler cap.

CelicaRy
Going to look at it tomorrow, I thought that the air could cause it, I'll post the code tomorrow
_Chris_
It's a vacuum rather than pressure and it's normal. It's done so breather fumes don't escape direct to atmosphere but get burnt in the engine.
zajc3w
Vapor recovery system transfer vapor from car tank to garage tank - you pay for liquid fuel delivered minus vapor recovered. at least in Gilbarco VedeerRoot pumps. Then garage tank vapors are transferred to fuel delivery lorry. Finally vapor from empty delivery lorry is recovered by refinery and condensed/burnt
