HYDRA EMS STANDALONE ECU - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Recommended Posts

I Bought this version 2.5 ecu for my Carlos Sainz gen 5 to go with the new forged build, but have just aquired a link g3, so I'm going to use that instead. It's a fully featured unit, with flat shift, anti lag, launch control etc..and has a built in map sensor - suitable for most engines, but please check it's 100 % suitable for your application.

I know the nemesis is a good ecu, but this doesn't say nemesis anywhere on it, just hydra ems and version 2.5 ,and some other numbers. I thought the g3 'plus' was pretty close in spec to the g4 ? although I know it doesn't have a built in map sensor, the g3 did come with the map sensor, plus some other bits, gear wheel etc...

The link plus is better but don't think it has knock control. Tbh the knock control on the g4 is pretty basic, only there to tick a box imo.

Look up the part number on the hydra website for info. Pm or ring me if you want help understanding it.

Cheers, the guy I bought it from said it was the 'dogs' , but I just took it as the usual flannel to get it sold. I did just have a browse of a comparison document from Xtreme racing tuning, comparing the top ecu's, the hydra compares very well to the link g4, so I guess it would compare even better to the g3 plus. I also just learned some of them have an autotune feature, does that mean they are plug and play ?

Popped this General Discussion Paul, you might get more views/info on this ECU than in the sale bit,so you can decide if its worth keeping hold of or put it back up for sale fella.

Auto tune only does the mixture and needs a wideband signal fed in. Basically you feed in a table. Of target afr's and it tweaks the map to achieve it. Can be useful but largely another impressive box to tick. The ignition map is the hard bit that really needs a dyno.

Do I remember correctly - did you say you had some ecu plugs a while back, I'm going to take your advice, sell the link and keep and fit the hydra, but I'll need to make an interconnecting loom - I don't really fancy cutting the plugs off my loom.
