If you know what you are doing it isn't too difficult a job.Give your self a few hours, a few beers and a swear box

Axle stands are a must for safety

I've just done my rear ones today.But that was on a Gen 6, not a 7 took about 30 mins per side, but I had the rear shocks off last week so I know what needed to be done.

If the 7's are similar to the 6's then you will need to remove the front shock unit from the car before you can do anything.

I'm sure some of the 7 owners will be able to fill you in on the exact details on what to do.

I shouldn't think there are many Gen 7s out there with intact gaiters, if you replace them with OEM you can be sure they will go the same way.

Many cars don't have them fitted with no ill affects and I just pulled the bits between the coils out on my car a couple of years ago, and its not an MOT-able item.
