Meathead
i'm such a man-beast with super strength (or just an idiot) that i over tightened my wheel nuts and this happened: snapped the bolt clean off so three questions, what do I need to fix it? How easy a fix is it? and can I still drive the car like it in the mean time?
Bill T
If you take the wheel off is there enough bolt showing to unscrew it?
Meathead
unscrew it? as in the bolts are not part of the hub thingy but can be removed and replaced if needed?
BlackJack
Ive done this, was really worried but its not that bad You take the disc off and hammer the remaining bit out. Then got a new one, pull it through then place washers and screw it through.
yellowchinaman
It doesnt unscrew. Has it snapped clean off? If so then you'll need to take the wheel off and hammer/press the bolt out from the other side. There should be a small gap which allows you to line up the bolt so it can come out. If there isn't then you'll need to remove the caliper and maybe dismantle the hub to reveal the bolt.
dublet
Buy yourself a torque wrench that does about 100Nm. They'll be £30 at most and you'll save yourself being a Meathead again.
izzzzythedog
as far as i know you can jack up , remove wheel , aline the remainder of the stud next to a cutout behind the hub and belt the bastard out , then £2 from toyota buys you a new stud

oMIKEYo
Ive not had 2 bolts (one on each) on my rear wheels for months Theyre still holding on for me
izzzzythedog
Ive not had 2 bolts (one on each) on my rear wheels for months Theyre still holding on for me its only cornering that theres what can be considered a safety issue , fwd and a missing nut on the back means its hardly worth worrying about , the lip on the disk sorts out potential breaking so although its not recommended its not the end of the world to be missing a nut , you would be suprised the amount missing come mot time

RoryK
I snapped 2 on mine before, drove around with only three nuts and was fine, just had to take it easy. I invested in a good torque wrench after lol
