What did you drive before your Celica?

Question

I was just wondering what you drove before your Celica.

I had a Ford Ka before mine.

I remember when I was first driving it and being amazed that it had electric windows, mirrors and even a proper glove box

My first car was a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec. I loved this car, it was standing for 6 months before I got it and I nursed it back to health. Turned out to be a bit of a money pit after 100k though and after spending £800 keeping it on the road in 3 months. Then after someone swiped my rear end and dented some panels I decided to get something else:

The car I had before my celica was a VW Lupo 1.4s. I was hoping to give this car the Euro look but I never got round to it due to money. It was a good little motor but gutless, I found that people always pulled out on me and cut me up etc because it was such a small car. When my insurance dropped a little I decided to take the plunge and get a celica.

In the end I just had to sell this, the bills were killing me and a turbo rebuild won't have been far off. I hope to get another one day though when I have a decent garage.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

As much as I love Toyota they really dropped some some cod's - Why did they never put the 2ZZ engine in the MR 2. It was screaming at them.

Unfortunately Toyota are more concerned with efficiency - I mean take a look at this:-

https://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/gt86/index.json

The first official figure they mention is MPG.... Who buys it for the MPG - They have lost their ways - Too many board room meetings on CSR's me thinks...

Nissan Skyline R33. Good to start with but went through 3 engines and 4 turbos. Broke it for parts and bought the celica. Before the Skyline I had a volvo 440.

Last car I owned before my Celica was a Rover 200 which started off life as a little 1.4, but that was replaced with a 2.5 V6 out of a ZT190 by the end of it's life. Great fun car to drive around a track, not so much fun to use on a daily basis.
