kishan38
I was just wondering if these would be suitable in my car (gen 6). I know it clearly says Celica GT 93 - 99 but I read in a thread somewhere that they can damage something, don't remember what it said exactly lol. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100W-Clear-HI-Lo-Fog...#ht_2911wt_1139 Thank you

sbdags
They are too bright, will get very hot, melt things and then you will have a new post about your car catching fire.

izzzzythedog
confess ? who me i run 80/100 watters most proberbly xenon , blue jobbies anyway , gen 5 lights are suspended in metal with a metal backing so it works as a head sink and doesnt get affected by the heat generated , also gen 5`s were made with proper materials so dont have wanky plastic headlights , glass all the way so once again its unaffected by the heat , not sure id recommend this to other people mind but personnaly i like to see where im going and gen 5 lights are generally wank
LeighV6
The additional electrical current generates additonal heat in the conductor of the cable which will eventually melt the insulation and possibly start an electrical fire in your engine bay. After which the insurance company will investigating the cause and they will more than likely refuse to pay out if they determine this is the cause. Therefore this is a mod that is NOT recommended without upgrading the wiring to the lights. Edited January 13, 2011 by LeighV6
kishan38
My lights are terrible which is why I considered it, I saw the bit which said it's illegal. It was the melting bit which I meant by something getting damaged. Thank you all for the replies but I'm not going to risk anything melting or having an electrical fire in the engine lol. Are there any other options? Edited January 13, 2011 by kishan38
