not sure if we had the spindle but we have no air bags, we applied the solder straight onto the end of the gold coloured pin that's sticking out -

I had the same problem the day of my MOT on my gt4. We got round the problem by applying some solder onto the end of the pin. It sounds like a bodge but its still holding firm.
