  1. Knowing when to give up on a car is always a difficult thing.especially with a Celica.allowing for the cars age and mileage what other "interesting" car can be run, modified and enjoyed as cheaply as a Celica? Perhaps this is part of the problem, better the devil you know syndrome.

Having owned several and inevitably sold some I've always viewed selling a Celica as a necessary step to buying the next one!

  2. Can only praise them so far, have beaten the life out of drilled and grooved ones both at200 and st205 discs and checking them constantly with no issues. I've moved away from mintex pads through found them a bit lacking and produced way too much brake dust on white rims.

EBC ultimax the ultimate for brake dust on white wheels.

  3. For what its worth I've only found one cheap tyre brand that I rated as good.altenzo "sports comforter" sounds naff but had three sets now on various Celicas and for the price their good and quiet on the road.

I've just picked up a new gen6 today and endured 200 miles on kuhmo exstas.what a hard, noisy, crap tyre.

  4. Decent oil plus a good filter.spark plugs, oil filter all straightforward to do.probably a good idea to drain coolant and back flush radiator.red long life antifreeze.check all other fluids, brake fluid could be changed but you will need to bleed the braking system not a one man job.other obvious service items brake pads/discs visual check, suspension check (jack up car and move each wheel to check for play)tyres, lights visual check.thats more than most garages would call a service.sure if you get stuck on anything somebody will know what do.take your time and go for it!

  5. Anybody with rust concerns over a gen 6.

..what about an import car? This countries climate and road salt is the big cause of rust.my experience of imports is apart from the insurance companies extra hand in your pocket their normally a lot better condition than uk cars.something to think about.
