The paperwork is a shambles form start to finish colour registration etc (they may gloss over that as typo's and not that important) Main points ? 1. 5250 test invalid. 2 db & dba are not the same thing etc BUT and here you could do with some proper advice from Mr Loophole This does not appear to be the charge that has been laid...................you can clearly stuff the Police evidence generally and win the individual battles but stil lose the war as you do not appear to be being charged with exceeding a certain noise level. So...... 1. How far if at all can you be prosecuted for a different offence than the one you were charged with? 2. Prosecution under C&U 54 is stretched beyond the normal useage of the English language in that (so far as you say) you haven't altered the replacement system. To follow the "logic" of the prosecution then every aftermarket system that is noiser by 1db is automatically illegal. Your research is really good but it needs focussing on the issues. I would see if you can have a chat with a specialist in the area. Doesn't the club have a legal link? NO!!! not me not my area at all as you can tell.! Sure the Mal Kirwan? biker type firms that advertise in MCN etc would love the leads from this site. You could always have a chat with the manufacturer or similar and say your systems are all illegal I am reporting you to trading standards and see what hey come up with. If their systems are stamped C&U compliant ball is back in your court. I think prosecution would bail before hearing if you could show that your system is C&U compliant and they have no evidence of subsequent tampering. If like a lot of aftermarket bike exhausts it is stamped "not legal for road use" then I regret you are ****ed! Can the corporate guys on here flogging aftermarket exhausts assist or are you looking at your feet shuffling nervously? lol ;o) Best of luck anyway!

Yeah, have thought of that and it's a possibility. I saw a "How to" thread on it a couple of weeks back. Just wondered if anyone had covered it to match the light or dark grey leather from the seats. I like leather ....and before you start I'm talkin 2 shades of grey not 50 so put the whip down!

Fond as I am of the KU55ed one, one thing that REEEEALLY gets on my wick is WHY after putting in nice comfy 2 tone leather seats, nicely trimmed doors and wheel did they leave that horrible low grade plastic monstrosity of a center console with, in particular that flimsy whimsy storage compartment cover smack bang in the middle of the dash so pathetic it could be blown away by an angels f*rt? Has anyone tried covering the whole shebang in leather to match the seats or doors & with what results? What irritates you and why?

Dragon Queen. Hear Hear. Njay. Precisely and also why DQ idea, losing all that irrelavant metal/weight makes sense. I guess it's a similar principle to pushing a door open with one finger. Easy by the handle, impossble by the hinge. But I didn't do physics so I couldn't explain leverage / energy stuff.lol Guess the way they are must be to do with the amount of energy they have to absorb stopping the weight of a car compared to stopping the weight of a bike.

That really sucks! It's not just the money, it's all the time that has gone into it that can never be replaced. My brother spent 2 years and a whole shedload of cash turning a 3.6 cabiolet xjs into a race spec v12 with bespoke gearbox brakes, the lot. A month after the project was finished we went to Spain for a week they broke into his garage and nicked it. Clearly the work of a "Friend" as they took out all the deckchairs and had a party in the rear garden knowing he was away. There are some not very nice people about! He emigrated. Strange that.

I have saved mike collins number from Brake International as he responded to an enquiry. Have you used them before? I will just have to focus on servicing and saving for the next couple of months as I spent all the money buying her.

Am genuinely interested in the calipers though as the brakes are the only achilles heel I can really find on the car. What have you gone for and why? Stock or upgrade? I shall be having mine checked shortly and anticipate a slide & piston grease, pads, braided hoses and fluids if lucky, plus discs and calipers if not. It could hurt! But not as much as not stopping.

Never over estimate the taste of the great British public JB. You will just be disappointed. They even change the ride height so you can't see over Sinclair C5s. Then there's the noisy exhausts and inductions. Talking of inductions....I think some of them have been inducted to a very strange club that involves weird aprons, rolling up trousers legs and baring nipples, but these are all just rumours................. Seconded! The 1st day I drove the white FTO a guy went across in front of me at roundabout in another white FTO. Serious grins and waving ensued. As I followed him I was half expecting a stoppage and cup of tea. Used to be the same with Citroens when the earth was still cooling and they were rare. Dad had the pretty much the first one in Leeds in the Mid 60s Green body red roof DS19 Known as the frog sandwhich. All the other cars were black or grey so I am told. Even got waves with one of the first GSs in the country so I guess it's just a rarity thing that Celicas will never have. I will still wave and send good Karma and if they don't respond? Well **** 'em!
