  4. You might need a steering wheel puller - I had to get one for mine. You can pick 'em up on eBay for under a tenner, and they make it a doodle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-13pc-Harmonic-Balance-Puller-Gear-Crank-Shaft-Steering-Wheel-Pulley-/130937161192?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e7c7685e8 edit - "doddle", even! Doh. Love "autocorrect".
  5. This was on the market about 6 or 7 months ago for about £15k. Is this another listing, or did someone buy this to sell on at a profit?
  6. Surely if he broke this - even only partially, and then put the rest off for scrap metal - he'd make £500. The induction kit would do £40-£50 on eBay, £100 for the wheels, rear spoiler, lights, bumpers, etc, even before you get into "properly" stripping this down to panels. Plus I'd be calling trading standards or a solicitor - if the seller advertised/sold it as being in good running condition, and actually it's got a shagged engine, then although there's no Sale of goods act come back, he's still got a potential civil claim, even if he can't just return it like you would with a trader - and in my experience, most genuinely private sellers would cack it at getting a solicitor's letter threatening legal action for recovery and just refund the cash, 'cos if it went to court they'd end up paying back the selling price PLUS the legal costs. Still be pissed if I'd bought an ST for a grand, though, running or not - only paid £750 for my GT, and that was immaculate (admittedly, it was bought off my father in law, who's an engineer and who'd kept the car looking like showroom-ready, so it's maybe not a COMPLETELY fair comparison  )
  7. Happy Anniversary AlexH!

  8. I started off with the first picture thinking "hmmm, bit OTT on the splitter and side skirts, but I've seen worse"...then I saw the back and just went "What the FUCK??????". Seriously???? Can you imagine sitting BEHIND that when the exhausts start kicking shit out right at air-vent intake level??? And how do you manage to make the back end of a ST202 look like a 90's Vauxhall Calibra?????? I think it should read "more defecated". Nice tidy engine bay, though. Mine hasn't looked that clean for years.
  9. Bought it last September off my father-in-law, and he'd looked after it properly, but even so was surprised...got twitchy and nervous taking it in, but they ended up charging me 12 quid to re-align the headlight bulbs, just to have something to bill me for on top of the fee! Couple of advisories, but other than that a clean bill of health...so another 12 months of roadworthy GT-ness. Cool.
  10. Cheers, both. Arizona, will that fit in the cup-holder so I can go Hands-Free?
  11. So...I know it's been wetter than a very wet thing, but I got in my Celica (Gen 6 ST202 GT) this evening to come home, and as I pulled out of the parking space about half a litre of water pissed out of the control unit for the sun-roof/interior light. Looking inside, it was full of water which all poured out of the switches (tilt switch and slide switch), and was all inside the light cover. Also, the cloth headliner was soaked all around the plastic of the light/switch unit. I've had a look, but I can't see anywhere that it would be leaking INTO this from - the sunroof was properly shut, before anyone asks! - so the only thing I can assume is that there was water leaking under the sunroof seals and into the motor/switches? But couldn't feel anywhere around the sunroof recess that was wet, so not sure? The electrics all seem to be fine, and the sunroof opens and closes, light works, etc..but I'm worried that this isn't a one-off. Any thoughts, guys? Or should I just buy some spare fuses and a snorkel??? A
  12. Definitely keep the Rotas and get rid of the three spokes - 3 spokes look a bit "Citroen", whereas those multispokes look sweet!
  13. Maplins sell the silver conductive paint for a tenner - and they're doing free delivery at the minute. stick a strip of masking tape running along either side of the electric element strip on the window, paint along the "gap" between the two masking strips (which is basically the track of the heating element", then remove the masking tape once the paint's dry. Done!
  14. WHAT IS IT???? It looks like someone sanded the corners off a Hummer!
  15. Hey, you asked! lol. I can't find the thread on here, but one at the end of this http://www.celicahobby.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/1870216506/site_id/1 shows the wire and the plug from the back of the clock. I did the same - fitted one of Spree's red LED kits (which looks great) but had to snip the wire to keep the clock lit cos the red was dimmer than the manky green! Good luck with it mate.
  16. lol - it's definitely the green one. The "I think" was only about whether it's third one in or not. It's the only green one! I haven't got my dash apart at the minute to tell you which position it's in...but it's definitely the green one. I suppose whether it's the third or second one in depends on whether you're looking from the front or back!!! I think it's actually labelled something like "Dim" or "Att" too. But it's DEFFO the green one!!
  17. They're a bitch to find - I got a set off here and I think I might have a spare set floating around in my toolbox...but I've got a funny feeling I've got about three drivers' side ones and only the one passenger side! I'll have a look though.
  18. Black one looks lovely - sort of combination of Gen 6, Gen 7, and 350Z as InsolentMinx says. Agree that the yellow version looks like it should have a renault badge on it, and presumably a 1.0 engine and some batteries!
  19. Hi - just joined this evening, and also put through a membership form and payment for £10 for club membership. My PayPal email address is different to the one I use for membership, though - my "real" email address is alex.j.holmes@btinternet.com, and my PayPal payment will come from withnails_lovechild@msn.com. My Celica Club username is AlexH. Look forward to membership! Cheers.
