  1. Thanks, decided to, off to see if maplins has some. Rather spend a bit longer on it than not
  2. It's not too late for a trip to maplins to grab some heat shrink I think, rather be safe then....errr.....well a touch crispy Dublet, the power of my faith will defend me from the flames, don't you worry
  3. These, actual ones and better link http://www.maplin.co.uk/insulated-crimp-terminal-butt-splices-42718
  4. Hi Just having a quick panic. I fitted a new 255 fuel pump to my st202 (for turbo). I had to cut the wires of the old fuel pump, and used a crimped butt terminal, e.g. http://www.thetoolboxshop.com/0-001-16-pack-of-50-durite-coloured-crimp-terminal-butt-connector-yellow-6131.html , to connect the now exposed wires from the old pump to the connector on the new pump. So...before I switch on....having an attack of nerves. Assumedly, this is fine and will not do anything stupid like ignite the fuel ? I can't see why as there are various connectors and wires in there, and fuel pumps burn out without igniting, but wanted to double check before starting her up. Thanks for any comments. EDIT - link doesn't work! should this be sealed somehow ?
  5. Saw a GT4 a few years ago, was driving behind it in my peug106 (!!) and loved it, then noticed a couple of other gen 6s.....decided I wanted one! Really wanted a GT4 but they were out of price range, so found a SSI (not that I knew that much about them at that point) and bought it. Should have sold it and bought a GT, but just couldn't! Even with the rust.... To own has been interesting....don't think it was well looked after at all.
  6. offending piece of cheap useless gasket! hole clean through it! boom boom. actually, holed when looking at side on car not put back together yet!
  7. Yeah I know...dunno why I made this post really! Tomorrow evening taken care of then
  8. Hi My exhaust manifold is blowing, at the bottom on the drivers side, near the awkward to get to bolt Question is, if I have torqued these up to 37lbs (as per manual), and it's still blowing, likely to be a crap gasket? It's one of those ebay composites, do have the original metal one kicking about. Trouble is I am lazy, as changing the gasket means taking off the turbo and really don't want to due to the fact it's all nicely together, torqued and not leaking!! Would going another quarter turn etc all round until leak goes be ok, or too torqued and damaging? PS...I know the real answer is don't be lazy!
  9. Thanks! Just finished two a3 sheets of it, now to find a vinyl printer who can scan it in and print out
  10. Thanks! Yup, that is what I have decided to do, been checking on quotes for printing it out, not too bad, so stickerbomb esque...but a lot freakier! So going to create some bigger ones, scan and then print
  11. cone filter goes inside it so nott he same, stick a pipe from under the car into it I would imagine and stick that where the exisiting air box is? did you get the cone filter as well?
  12. you thinking electric supercharger thingy? Is it that or just an filter to make nice roaring sounds?
  13. Thanks New plan, bought some a3 card sheets, going to create montages on them, then scan them as images so they are one single print, then can see about a vinyl print, or print on decent paper and ink, wrap and lacquer
  14. Rain coming in the windows, definetly! Drinks holders, yup! Can't change gear AND have both cupholders out.... Rear visibility isn't that hot either And on a personal note, the fact I haven't driven mine above 2k revs for about 3 months....
  15. Hmmm, good idea. Trip to whsmiths this lunch time then! Will experiment with a few things
  16. Tiss my GT-Overfiend don't you know....
  17. Dip, hmmm, if it worked with your own designs that would be really good...will check out
  18. Playing around tonight and did this, idea for my spats I really like it, cut up a biomega book. I know it's not to everyones taste but hey. Anyway, unfortunatly did not really work as the lacquer undid the glue and darkened the images (this was pre spray). So thinking of doing a huge montage in photoshop and getting it printed onto vinyl wrap perhaps and covering ? Think it might be a bit expense though....any other ideas?
  19. Brilliant, thanks for all that, appreciate t will visit tuning developments website !
  20. Hi, talked to a tuner who recommended I get a bigger fuel pump (fine, will get walbro prob) and a pressure regulator for my 3sfe turbo build. On the regulator, is there anything specific I need to be aware of, or will a universal kit be fine ? Inserts on fuel line before injector rail I assume ?
  21. My gauges are in the middle dash ish, in the lower stereo din of gen 6. I like it as it is subtler than having them blaring on the pillar. However agree, not as easy to monitor though.
  22. Been following this thread, congratulations, brilliant work though damn you put the effort in!
  23. Cool mod So the speed limiter is in the clock ?!? Wandering what a replacement clock for 3sfe would be, would the 3sge work or not? Hmmm one way to find out I guess!
  24. Hi, checking after work, got all weekend with no plans for a rare change, so have some time to investigate
