  3. thank you all..the quotes i have so far is from 280-400 both these places ive used before so know them and what they are like but i will give that place in hucknall a call today if i can find the number and thanks for the offer of a lift back might just take you up on that. Sawyer im doing good thanks mate still lots of hospital appointments but the crunch time is about to hit me and thats next monday what happens then will determine if i can drive again and to a certain extent if i can work again...ahh dont worry mate i will let you know as soon as the results are given to me on the 8th Febuary.
  4. Hiya its me again im looking at replacing my clutch and was wondering if anyone around the Staffordshire area knows of a place i can get one fitted without getting ripped off on the price...i live in Lichfield so hopefully this will be of some help in trying to find a place not to far away from me...and its also close on MOT time which hopefully wont be to expensive ..
  5. this really is a great little place where the folks are friendly and helpfull.......Booth that could have been my car on the A5 my eldest went to Tamworth to get some fuel..even though the nearest petrol is 2 miles away he insisted on driving the 12 miles or so to Tamworth..hhmm i wonder why lol ..Sawyer even though my dog growled at you she loves ya lol just dont try to take her chewy lol Tia (my dog) has been great since my stroke shes almost 9 and ive had her since she was 6 weeks old but shes a great car thief deterrent .....in around two weeks time im hoping to find out how much damage has been done to my eyes and based on that i will then decide on if i keep my car or sell it..either way she will be in good hands that im sure.
  6. Just wanted to say a big thanks toJimmyLegs and also Sawyer for popping over today and taking me and my car out for a blow was great to hear that engine roar again and feel the pull of that gorgeous engine and nice to meet some Celica members too thanks guys Fab

  9. First of all apologies if im a little silly with spellings ect..... three weeks ago was out in my celica on the tuesday evening on the m42 making my way to tamworth college to pick up my 17 yo son...i had just pulled off the motorway at tamworth when i had what i thought was a terrible migrane...within around 3 minutes i couldnt see anything i was almost totally blind...thye nitty gritty to this is i suffered a serious stroke which had robbed me of my sight.left me partly pralysed down my left hand side took my balance and aslso badly affected my short term memory.....obviously i have now lost my licence and it dont look as if i will ever get it back.......im still in control of myself so dont thinkj like some people that im bed ridden because im far from it ..but...my lovely celica is just sitting outside..the battery getting more and more flat by the day..is there any members that would be willing to come to my home and if i put fuel in it take me and my car for around a 40 mile trip just to charge up the battery and keep eveything from seizing up on it?????..i would love top hear the roar of that engine again.....obviously you would need some type of insurance and i would need to see that.....really hope im not asking to much here and if you think i am then apologies to you regards Fab
  10. Ooppsss so sorry another blonde moment but hey it was nice of him to offer his help and good name dont you think lol
  11. thanks for the offer Cruising but im Lichfield miles from you
  12. thanks for all your replies yes from what i can see they are all new..i would have done a lot of that myself years ago but i do suffer with bad arthritas in my hand joints and that stops me from gripping things i cannot even make a fist with my right hand most days so i have to rely on garages for things.
  13. Took my Gen 5 Celica in for a service yesterday after about an hour the garage called me and told me my main rad was kaput i did have some inclination something was wrong with it however this is what the did and the charge for it all... was wondering if it sounds a fair price as im not used to footing garage bills: change oil and filter new air filter new spark plugs new syntheitc engine oil new petrol filter screen wash new wipers New anti freeze checked all brakes and levels through the car and turned the back wheels around as someone had put them on wrongly(tyres was wrong rotation) replaced main radiator with new one total bill was £347..seems a fair price but what do members think?
  14. Thanks you to all for your suggestions..the original motor didnt appear to work and this is why i paid out £63 for a secondhand one but the motor dosent appear to work on this one either so now its either a faulty unit or somethings wrong with the wiring on the car but help might be on the way in the form of ive just brought a double din unit to replace the aftermarket radio/cd thats in the car its being fitted in on wednesday this week and they have said they will look at the ariel when installing the new unit ive brought.
  15. When i first bought my Celica (first registered 1-1-1994) the only thing that didnt work was the electric aerial, so made enquiries and found out from toyota they were not made anymore. So, found one in a breakers yard in Cornwall called the guy he assured me it was working and i got it the other day it should have been a straight swap over but wasnt. I installed the seconhand unit and it didnt work so called the company and he reassured me it was working but said he couldnt test the relay thats inside of the unit..ok i have a couple of questions im wondering if anyone could answer for me....on installatiuon i noticed there was a single black wire attached to the body close to the ariel unit I'm assuming it's an earth of some kind, but is this for the aerial or what?? and if so where do i connect it to. Secondly, how can i get the aerial up and leave it up i hate driving listening to radio 2 all the time. Lastly, I do have my old unit minus the silver aerial (well most of it) and in view of this new unit i have is up for grabs if you want to take a chance on it.
